About Me

BIO
I was born in Preston and brought up in Chorley single handedly by my mother as an only child. As a child I used to like WF wrestling and used to beat up my teddys and break my toys. I first picked up a guitar at my uncles house at the age of 9 or something, He taught me a blues riff and that Christmas I was bought my own guitar and got lessons from an old man called Roy. He used to come to my house and teach me in the kitchen whilst my mum watched the telly in the front room. He taught me 'skip to my lou' and 'Brown girl in the ring'. I had a budgie at the time and he used to whistle along. I got a little bored of the guitar and after seeing 'The Mighty Ducks' movie decided I wanted to be an ice hockey player. So I joined a hockey team, The Chorley Devils! After many practices we lost our first real match to the 'Wigan Warlords' 15-0. We did get better and got to the final in the national cup only to be beaten 4-3 by the Bury Bears. The highlight of my career was scoring the winning goal against the 'Wigan Warlords' years after that thrashing of 15-0. I picked up the guitar again around 14 and started a band with some kids from school. We called ourselves 'The Contortionists' and rehearsed in the bass players dads Karate Gym. This was a great place and we were very lucky to get to use it. But being young idiots we messed around allot and almost burnt the place down. This band never played a gig ever but we were definately the best band that never were. When I was 16 the Hockey team were put into the adult leagues and people started to break their arms. This is when I decided to take the guitar more seriously and leave the Hockey behind. I got some more guitar lessons from a young metal head and he taught me Metallica solos and Megadeth riffs. I started another band with another school friend and I worked the nightshift as a cleaner so we could rehearse in the drummers house during the day while his mum was at work. We were amazing but once again didn't play a gig, The 2nd best band that never were....hehe. After I left school I went to Blackburn College and did a music course and joined other bands and played a gig in a balaclava and sang 'System of a down' and 'Deftones' songs.Word got round of my shredding guitar skills and I was asked to join hardcore band 'Onset'. We recorded a demo 'Too close for comfort' in my bedroom. We played 3 Battle of the bands competitions and got to the final in all of them only to be beaten by commercial sellouts. In summer 2002 I moved out of my mums house to Preston and rented a 3 bedroom house with 2 girls for £20pw! The band had a change of style and changed the name to 'Idiom Lifeline' This was a very technical band similar to that of Dillinger Escape Plan and we only wrote 6 songs in 2 years. We argued allot because of frustration at how slow we were writing songs. The band split up. I was working at KFC and thought 'what the hell am I doing?' I quit the next day and bought an acousitc guitar I wrote loads of songs, recorded a demo, got some credit cards and moved to London in September 2004. After a gig @ 93 Feet East that November I was offered a publishing deal. I got a good amount of money but got a girlfriend rented a nice flat and spent all the money on Playstations, Xboxes, ipods and somehow ended up with allot of animals....I still have the guinea pig today :) During those couple of years I didn't really do much but write and record. The girlfriend left and I started to go out every night in London partying spending too much money and wasting allot of time. But whilst I was busy doing nothing some of my recordings ended up getting allot of Major Label interest and I started working with Universal. I got a bit distracted by the whole industry and thought I was going to get 'signed'. I didn't. Which turns out to be a blessing in disguise seeing how much the music industry has changed in the last year. I am now in a great position, I have recorded 2 mini albums and almost finished a 3rd and I own all the rights to the recordings. I am in the middle of setting up my own label and the first mini album is going to be released on SamGetCapes Mannequin Republic label very soon. That is probably the longest biography you have ever read. If you read it well done you have got more time to waste than I do.

A few other things you might want to know about me.
I started my own religion at school and had followers, Our God was Richey James Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers.
The first gig I went to was 'The Lightning Seeds' supported by 'The Wannadies' @ The Manchester Appollo.
