Sounds Like: Marco Conti studied electric bass and upright bass in Italy and in the U.S.A., graduating in 1987 at Berklee College of Music, Boston. Studied improvisation, ear training and composition with Jerry Bergonzi and Charlie Banacos and instrumental techniques with Bruce Gertz, Anthony Cox, Lenny Plaxico and Jeff Andrews. Played in the U.S.A. in various formations, among others with musicians like Karl Berger, Salvatore Bonafede, Mike Rosen, Fabio Morgera and Dave Kikosky. In Italy, where he lives, he has followed master's classes with Furio di Castri and Paolo Fresu, as well as seminars with John Scofield, Marc Johnson, Miroslav Vitous and Gary Willis, wherein he also participated as assistant.
In addition to various jazz styles, his experience in composition and performance is also in the field of classical and ethnic music.
