RECORDINGS UP NOW!

About Me

The Prevention is preferable to The Cure!
The Prevention are a Freshers' band from Nottingham University. They are all from Newark Hall on Jubilee Campus. Rory, Jon and Mat all met during Fresher's week, and met Simon a week later. In the ensuing 2 months, they feel ready to start gigging. Even though there is a more than likely chance that Rory will snap many strings during the gigs, as he is currently averaging breaking 2.3 per practice!!! None of us are doing art/drama/music based degrees, so there!
United, mainly by Thatcher's Somerset Cider and Hall and Woodhouse Brewery's Tanglefoot Ale from Dorset, Rory and Jon went on and on writing songs, with Simon and Mat ably adding parts, constructing whole songs from the drunken notes and riffs scribbled down earlier.
(The only trouble encountered after this initial writing process is Rory forgetting the bloody lyrics halfway through a verse, at which point he make new ones up, then decides they fit better and so changes them permanently. However, this shall mean he struggles to remember the new ones, again failing to recall them, a piece of paper in front of his face is required until his mind remembers something other than guitar.)
As is perhaps now fairly evident, there is now some tunage coming out of your speaker system of preference, and that will probably be streaming from this MySpace page. These songs are "Someday" and "The Difference Between Love and Sleep" but MySpace is sending us to bed with a smacked bottom for having a song title that long, so it won't fit. Boo. Rory broke 2 strings in recording (surprise, surprise) and Dorset County Council must be thanked for giving me the extra money to afford it really.
