the one to sing the blues

About Me

Actually I'm not a band, just a singer. I'm 29 from Trieste, Italy (on the border with Slovenia, even if there is no border anymore...), where I've been singing in some bands nobody have heard of, before founding a new one with my friend Alessio Roveri. We named the band "Aberdeen Rail Station est.2001". We went on for six years between ups and downs and a lot of line-up changes, eventually becoming the best pub band in our town. I moved to Edinburgh in 2007 with the purpose of staying there for a year or two and there I wrote a couple of songs with my friend Tam Jones (a great guitarist) and we started searching for good people to complete the line-up (check This.Little.Bird. on MySpace and you'll find a wonderful singer). I moved back to Italy as a consequence of some trubles I had there. Once I realized it was better for me to stay home, I had to find new people for the next Aberdeen Rail Station line-up. We are four now (with me there are Marco Bernobi on guitar - he'd been in the band before as both bass player and drummer -; Gabriele Giovannini on bass and also guitar and probably some other instruments; a wonderful singer named Fiore). An harmonica player is soon to join and we're looking for a fiddler too. I want this band to work and keep workin', but in the future I'd also like to try some other experiences of life far from home (in Edinburgh again, or in London... I'd also like to try Brussels, Amsterdam, Ljubljana and, obviously, Aberdeen). Maybe I'll stay away for a couple of months a time, so that I don't have to leave the band for too long. Anyway... anywhere you are, if you have read all these lines and liked the music and you think you can help us organising some dates in or close to your hometown, please, get in touch! I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)

Influences: I have a lot of influences. As a singer, SPIKE of the quireboys and TOM WAITS are my main influences (I love them. They don't love me, especially Spike: he really seemed not to like me the day I climbed on stage and sang part of "I Don't Love You Anymore" with his microphone and stand during a Quireboys concert in Milano). As a frontman I tried to create my own character and I made it taking something not only from TOM WAITS and SPIKE, but also from BRIAN JOHNSON and BON SCOTT and every other good frontman I have seen performing on stage, live or in dvd. One of my favourites is GREG DULLI, for example. But I can't say I'm like him, for I'm not an instrumentist. I'd also like to sing like PAUL RODGERS, but, well, it's difficult and I don't have the voice to do that. And SPINAL TAP are one of my favourite bands ever.
