About Me

Hi. My name is Matthew.

I take pictures. When I am not doing that - I am thinking about taking pictures.

I have been doing this for a few years, worked with several hundred models, and besides being an arts and entertainment attorney, I am the contributing photo editor for a local publishing group that puts out five different magazines monthly. You may have seen some of my work previously. I have done fashion and glamour images for the Valley Advocate , Local Buzz , and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun magazines. Some of my images have been featured in the Republican newspaper and Portfolio Magazine . I also have been exhibited a few times in various galleries across New England. I even put together a book of some of my work - Inaudible Memories.

I shoot what I want. Often times it gets published. Other times it is because I want to explore new ideas or find new ways to rework old techniques. I am currently pursuing an MFA from the Academy of Art University . I have regular homework assignments and projects that I need to complete for my degree. If you don't constantly push forward - what's the point in pushing at all?

I am looking for people to collaborate with. Such collaboration requires both input and effort from the model. I am not looking to shoot glamour girls in bikinis or less. I did it. It's boring. I am over it. Let's move on.

If you have unique ideas - locations - concepts - or even just a desire to be a part of something deeper than posing on a seamless paper background with your hands over your breasts - I want to work with you. I have plenty of ideas on my own to work on!

I share a studio with Lesley Arak ( myspace ). But just because I have a studio doesn't mean we have to shoot there. My equipment is state of the art and I even have generators for the lights. I can easily throw it in the back of my Element and off I go.

I have stylists who do makeup and hair. Not for every shoot. Usually just the important ones - or if you want to pay their costs.

You can bring an escort - but I reserve the right to make them work. If they got a set of hands - allow me to fill them with a reflector.

If you do want to hire me - because you aren't interested in working on a project that I am working on - please be aware that I am picky. My time is valuable - and I am tired of shooting things that I don't want to shoot. So, even if you offered to pay me (my rates are below) - I may not express interest in working with you. It's not the money that motivates (though it's nice paying bills) but rather the ability to exercise my creative critical thinking skills.

My rates for portfolio development or special requests generally start at $200/outfit. That includes 5 edited web size images per outfit, 2 8x10 prints, and the services of a makeup artist. Some needs are unique - and I am flexible in my pricing to accomidate your specific interest. I also do weddings - but only on a case by case basis.
