About Me

Take Some Action/ Take Part Info (Get Up, Get Into It, Get Invovled!)
I'm spending energy praying for the safety of the sangha, the people of China/Tibet and Burma, and a return to compassion for the Chinese people.
Here's a little bit about me
I live in wine country north of San Francisco. I love the scenery, the weather, the food and wine, and living only an hour from San Francisco. But, I do jones for a flat in the city and more travel to Europe and South America. I live by myself and I'm currently in the midst of a long divorce, which is tough, but I feel good, sometimes amazing, and enjoy meeting new friends.
I wrote a screenplay over the last year and have started a second and a third. One of them I may just pitch as an idea, but the other will be more of an epic, period piece. The first one is a love story. So, all that means I spend a lot of time writing, but I also enjoy playing music (drummer) and have been going to a lot of concerts.
I'm learning kite-boarding, Spanish, and Italian. And, I'm trying to remember all the French I used to know. I've been watching a lot of neo-realist cinema and have always been a fan of foreign and indie film. I took a stack of film classes and think I could be a natural producer, but I'm focusing on writing and directing because I enjoy the creativity. And because, in a way very similar to making films, producing is something I do every day. I say this because my day job is Director of Software Engineering (I architect and build solutions to all kinds of problems... Hmmm... Let's say I spend my day inventing, then building things using all kinds of specialists and resources). Different specialists and different resources, but it's all still production. I won't know for sure until I try it out though. Since I love a good adventure, I guess not knowing means I know what I have to do?
P.S., Still building out my page... Photos, etc... But, here's some images for now. ..

I'd like to meet:

I had started a list of my heroes and favorite people, but really I enjoy just about everybody I meet. It's what life's all about for me. I enjoy authenticity, and I don't mind working a bit to help bring it out of people if they're not quite there yet.

Music:

yes. all kinds... lately lots of electronica, samba, bossa nova, nuevo tango, Anoushka Shankar remixes, tons of 30's, 40's, and 50's Big Band Swing and Jazz (Miles, Chet, Ernestine Anderson, Getz, Peggy Lee, etc...), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet Lickers, but I always love when my iPod shuffle loads some Marley or English Beat.

Movies:

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, 8 1/2, Ladri di Biciclette, Il Postino, Non Ti Muovere, The Big Blue, Countryman, Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead, Shakespeare in Love, Volver
