VALKYRIE RISING BIOGRAPHY: January 2007, and after leaving his former band, JP Mulligan went out with a mission statement. His mission was to form the missing link between good songs, catchy riffs, and ear melting guitar solos, in short, the worlds greatest rock/metal band. To do so wouldnt be easy however, and for the job he recruited his friend and bass player, Liam McCafferty and later joined by Ben Davies on Rhythm Guitar. The band went through a long period of Drummer/Singer problems, which not only hindered the band but left JP on the brink of madness. After 8 months of blood, sweat, tears and around 200 drummers, the band finally found their complete lineup, with the addition of Danny Watson on vocals and Tom Hewitt-Jones on drums. This proved a winner as Danny's catchy semi-commercial melodies blended perfectly with JP's exotic riffery, and Tom's furious skin-bashing perfectly complemented by Liam's intricate basslines and Ben's solid guitarwork. After a few months of solid songwriting, the band managed to perfect their melodic, progressive, alternative sound and create something truly different. The band recorded their first demo on the 24th November 2007 at Random Recordings in Nottingham and after a very well received gig stint playing at many venues across Yorkshire the band are now preparing to enter studio to record a new demo EP.
