Todd Evans started The Golden Sounds in late 2004 and recruited friends to help bring his songs from the recording to live performance. Now after the release of 2 full-length albums and a 5-song EP, The Golden Sounds have developed a loyal and growing following that identifies with his somewhat surreal yet honest songwriting.
Opening for The Mosquitos, Lovedrug, The Juliana Theory, and Venus Hum, Todd enjoys walking the line between the lush band feel and lo-fi raw performances. His latest offereing slated for an early 2007 release is entitled "lo-fi sounds for a hi-fi heart" and is more reminescent of the EP "A Song For Each of Us And An Extra For You." Acoustic guitars and his trademark melodica and keyboards seek to bring meaning to a tough year of questions and struggles. "This has been one of the most challenging years of my life and this album touches on that."
Also in the works is the first ever internet-only tour. "As i travel, i intend to set up and play small shows at hotel rooms, bathrooms, restops, old country roads, pretty much anywhere i end up alone. Then I will video and document it and put it up online. That will be the only way you can see the tour, since no one will know where i will be performing....and if they do find out, well i'll just keep my hotel room locked and they can sit in the hall. It's just me and the internet audience...so i guess you could say i'm not going for the highest grossing tour of 2007."
