About Me

Harcuvar [har-coo-var]was originally formed in 1998 by Geoff Orr and Nathan Clelland. Named after a western Arizona desert mountain range with a unique eco system supporting a wide variety of reptiles and other wildlife. The band recorded in 2000 and was offered a contract with a music label. The deal fell through due to conflicts within the band. Subsequently, the band split up. Geoff went on to do music with a local band called "Employee of the Moth" with songwriter Jesse Maxwell, Dan Sitzler (Fatigo) and Jacob Dang. Nathan planned to do some singer/songwriter acoustic music on his own, but never really got around to it. In 2001, Nathan and Geoff got back together, and with Scott Tennant (Half Visconte) and Ryan Kennedy (The Threads), formed the band "Overnight to Distant Cities", which lasted for 3.5 shows, when Scott suddenly moved to New York. In around 2003, the band Telegraph was formed with Nathan, Geoff, Jeremy Drysdale and Saralyn (Nathan's sister). Jeremy went on to form his own band (The Letterpress). In 2004 Nathan, Geoff and Saralyn invited Jacob Dang and Lindsay Cates (This Traveling Will) to join the band, and finally settled on the original name, Harcuvar. In 2005, Jacob got a job in Tucson, and had to give up the band. In 2006, Maren Meacham joined the band doing vocals (and eventually will add Cello and possibly some guitar). Weve been recording, and hopefully will be done soon. Come see us play some time.
