Who arted?

About Me

Christian, clever, creative, and admittedly uncool, ...I practice architecture forty plus per week and sculpt in steel when I can. In between I skate vert and restore my home. My time is primarliy spent reading, writing, and creating art. Of late, I have found it increasingly difficult to follow the Lord when so many good Christian people are telling me to support a war that is immoraly motivated by the desire for power, profit, and resources. They tell me to discount the lies that inspired this war. They tell me that if I don't support their war and their president then I must be a liberal, ...a sinner. These good christian leaders, ...George Bush, Tom Delay, et al, ...they can all jump right in the middle of lake hypocrite. I see nothing Christ-like in their actions. They would be commical if only so many thousends of people had not died in their wake. It's hard not to think that the bitter end is near, ...and that we deserve all of what is to come. This administration has made me embarrassed to be an American.

My Interests

Tolerance, the Gala Corina, Brooklyn, San Francisco, Art, Japanese food, and pretty much all things honest and creative. Some images of my sculpture are below:

I'd like to meet:

The selfless, the creative, the sincere. Hedonsists will find me boring and oscar winners will find me unsympathetic.

Music:

Lately, turntablists have garnered my the bulk of my attention. Shadow, Q-bert, and Rob Swift have a technical virtuosity that defies logic, ...while Krush lends a maturity and elegance that is hard not to be enamored with. I used to dj house and trip hop, ...and yes, ...party pretty hard. now I'm back into bands and healthy living. Straight edge is one of those all or nothing terms that will trip you up eventually, ...but it is absolutely a personal goal. My last concert was Social Distortion at Jannus. I tried to catch the Dropkick Murphy's recently but some hood rats did a basic b & e on my home and squashed that. If I ever find them, ...it's their ass.

Movies:

Terry Gilliam, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ridley Scott, the Coen Brothers, Michael Moore, Coppola, and well, ...alright, ...Cameron Crowe all tickle me where it counts. Focus and Lions Gate can be counted on for consistent quality in my opinion. The demise of the Sunrise Theater in Hyde Park shows just how shallow and off-the-shelf Tampa really is. I just recently saw the Found Footage Festival at our beloved Tampa Theater and cannot recommend it enough. It was pure genius.

Television:

Save yourselves, ...kill your television! Truth be told, I watch a ton of movies and PBS.

Books:

Rick Warren, Chomsky, David Sedaris, and the timeless Dr. Seuss.

Heroes:

Banksy, John Lennon, Henry Rollins, Robert F. Kennedy Rr., Bill Moyers, and anyone else clever enough to push throught the dross and redefine the way we see the world.
