ARTIST STATEMENT:Kinetic Mobile Sculpture is akin to a companion. They sit with us in the room and relax. No words, just thought.Kinetic Mobile Sculpture greets us at the visual level, then invites us to come in, take a seat and leave the outside world behind.I have always been fascinated by balance, that constant battle of wits with inertia and gravity.I have equally been intrigued by junk. It has on an accidental asthetic appeal that is acquired only by circumstance. The chaotic fluid lines formed by nature appeal to the spiritual drive in me. The lines implemented in architectural design patronize my desire for logic. All of these mindsets in concert result in the Kinetic Mobile Sculpture that Im compelled to build.Viewing art is often like a new conversation, one always finds something to agree and disagree. My artistic references are: Calder (of course), Escher, Star Trek, Mad Magazine and child refrigerator art. I find myself continually attracted to lines that travel parallel and then intersect and separate again.Colors are typically locked into the primary palette. Color is also typically sparse in its field of coverage. Generally used only as an accent at the beginning or end of a kinetic line.Site specific works are my favorite. I love meeting new people. Learning new perspectives. Seeing new places...This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor
