I volunteer with the animal welfare organizations in my community and help create more. I try to enable pet owners through education and helping provide affordable, attainable services. In February 2007, my peers acquired contracts with our local City and County governments to fund spay/neuter surgery for pets belonging to residents receiving public assistance. Recently, the County pulled our funds; however we got a grant through PetsMart Charities to cover the loss temporarily. Our local Humane Society works with us to catch people who fall through the cracks, and has rescued many unwanted litters with zero notice and zero donations. My home phone number is widely accepted as our area's Animal Hotline: 812-514-8520. My husband Ron and I both answer dozens of calls daily and refer people to appropriate programs. We are a local Pets ALIVE Spay-Neuter Clinic Transport contact, helping bring low-cost services to area animals. I recreated and manage the website for Spay-Neuter League, Inc.

We are a multiple dog and cat zofamily . Our home reflects our respect for creatures great and small. Spider webs remain intact; bats and bees are welcome; birds sing special lullabies to us. The trees and jewelweed in our yard will whisper secrets to those who will listen. Wild strawberries, roses and rasberries freckle the boundaries of our property. Honeysuckle and sweet autumn clematis scent the air. Life abounds at our home and it is good.
