What's uppppp! My name is Tyla, close friends call me "XiXi". I was born in Shanghai, raised in Tokyo. I'm currently a student at New York University, majoring in Mass Media Communications and Business. Why am I passionate about the media? Because it allows me to give back to my community by utilizing my trilingual skills (Chinese, Japanese, English) in a creative manner. When I went back to China in 2005, I published an article in Chinese Yangtze Newspaper about the different lifestyles between Chinese and American teens. My interest in mass media sparked through that experience. Although I was only a teenager, I HAD A VOICE. My opinions were valued.
My dream goal is to work with a major television network company as a TV HOST where I can discuss topics of interest and connect on a personal level with my audience. I am not trying to break into the "celebrity society", that is not my concern. My job is to enlighten my audience with the latest coverage on celebs, business moguls, sports stars... the daily happenings.
I'm extremely optimistic about my life; the bottle is always half-full in my eyes. I’ve smiled my way through many obstacles in life. Despite my attempts at blending into various environments, I usually stick out like a sore thumb because of my DYNAMIC personality. I polish my professionalism with my ability to have fun and SEIZE THE DAY!
