About Me
Sono nato in un porto di mare, tra gomene e grida di gabbiani. Navi che partivano, navi che arrivavano.Intrufolarsi tra le vie di merci e persone in arrivo, per cercare un angolo dove pescare e sentirsi grandi, era un miracolo.Correre e battagliare in quei meandri loschi e puzzolenti era la normalità , il pericolo ti sfuggiva dalle mani. E poi c'era il mare, quello grande, che quando ho iniziato a conoscerlo per davvero, ti dovevano trascinare via dall'acqua impazzito e infreddolito e gli occhi ti bruciavano dal sale e non sapevi più se eri un'alga, un cormorano o un pesce azzurro. La scuola del mare frequentata in seguito, mi ha sempre fatto pensare che il destino era segnato su quella via, anche perchè se hai la fortuna di poter andare in barca, sai quando sali ma non quando scendi. Ma non fu così. Ad un certo punto della vita ho incotrato una tavola di legno sulla quale ho voluto tracciare dei segni. Inizia cosi la mia storia di artigiano. Ho percorso diverse strade ma dentro me ,sempre presente e sempre piu forte ,la voglia di esprimere sentimenti e conflitti interiori . Da qualche anno ho voluto dare piu ascolto a me stesso e ,senza maestri da seguire,cerco di trasmettere il rispetto che la natura , il piu' delle volte inascoltata,pretende dall'uomo. E allora, la ricerca di legni ormai morti, a cui voglio ridare una forma di vita nell'espressione delle forme già esistenti o il tracciare quasi dei graffiti con l'intaglio ,seguendo ancestrali disegni provenienti da chissà quali paesi lontani , conseguono semplicemente la stessa strada che è quella della vita. Il legno lo lavoro in diversi modi: restaurando mobili, intagliando, intarsiando, scolpendo, insomma cercando forme o seguendo quelle che già si presentano naturalmente. Da quasi due anni studio sulla costruzione della chitarra ed ho realizzato un certo numero di strumenti. Chitarre classiche e folk, bouzouki tipo irlandese, mandola tipo irlandese.Nel 2005 con la compagna con il quale vivo, abbiamo deciso di organizzare un piccolo concerto ed il ricavato rivolgerlo ad EMERGENCY ed Medici senza Frontiere. Lo spettacolo lo abbiamo chiamato " No War " Abbiamo preparato dei brani musicali di diversi autori. Gli amici con i quali abbiamo preparato questo lavoro sono: Andrea Sechi : basso. Francesco Spina : chitarra. Valerio Perantoni : percussioni. Rosanna Gambera : voce. Io : chitarra e voce._______________________________________________________ _I was born in a port between hawses and the cry of seagulls, ships that leave and ships that arrive. It was a miracle for me mixing with merchandise and people arriving, trying to find a corner to fish and feel grown up. Running and fighting in those dubious winding meanders was my normality (and danger slipped from my hands). Then there was the sea, the big one, and when I truly started to know him the grown ups had to drag me away from the water, crazy and shivering, I had my eyes burning with salt and I didn’t know if I was a seaweed or cormorant or a blue fish.After the nautical school that I attended I thought my destiny was marked in that direction, (also because if you have the fortune to go on a boat you know when you alight but not when you descend) but it wasn’t like that.At a certain point of my life I met a piece of wood on which I wanted to trace a sign.So starts my story as a craftsman. I have scoured different roads but within myself have always felt,present and stronger, the need to express sentiments and interior conflicts.In the last few years I have been following my feelings and, with no masters to follow, I try to transmit the respect that nature, often unheard, pretends from man.There begins the search for dead wood, which I want to give a new form of life respecting the natural form or tracing a sort of “graffiti†with carving, following ancestral designs coming from who knows what distant place, converges to the same road which is that of life. I work wood in different ways: resturating furniture, carving, engraving, sculpturing, looking for shapes or following those that present themselves naturaly. In the last two years I was studying the construction of guitars and I realised a fiew instruments, classical and folk guitars, irish type of bouzuki and mandola.
