I am, most of all, a singer. One who writes songs like seawaves and night's strolls whistling, as Lenya. And one who audibly drewls on stuff, when having fun with my rockband White Lies. One who's born and raised in Amsterdam, and living in Rotterdam, as Julia Reinhold. I started out in bands as a blues/rock singer with a punky touch, and in the amature theatre as a musician/actor. And, I enjoy stepping out of my daily habits; with other musicians in their shows or recordings, and with artists. I make soundtracks for short animationfilms, did an indie/dvd-project, an A-minor rockcoverband for a gig in a boxingring (all songs in Aminor, no more than 3 chords and play them very very loud), fronted as in-poorest-moments-subtitute-singer of a hardrockkaraokeband, did bandinterviews for an Amsterdam local tv-show, and so on.. I'm a sucker for strong coffee and drawn by details and patterns repeating throughout time. All music's right for me as long as it's honest and intense. On this space, you can hear the the early results of my songwriting. The aim was to build a design of musical atmospheres, influenced by a broad scale of musical styles, bands and artists. On paper and 4-track analogic demo, I forward my songs to a group of musicians - also with diverse musical roots, always chosen with specific intentions. Musical update should be audible at beginning of '08.On my blog I keep up with all the stuff happening.. ..
