De Kift, started in 1988, combines its self-willed music of pots and pans, brass band tooters, gnarly, scraping choral singing with lyrics from literature. Among other things, the works of Wolfgang Borchert, Erich Maria Remarque, Jan Arends, Venedikt Erofeev, Flannery O'Connor, Werner Schwab, Daniil Kharms form the basis for the CDs Yverzucht (1989), Krankenhaus (1993), Gaaphonger (1997), Vlaskoorts (1999), Koper (2001) and Vier Voor Vier (2003), 7 (2006).
