From March 6th 2008 till May 26th 2008,
two of the six drawings that I did for the
installation 'End on mouth' by Yael Davids,
have been exhibited in London, at the exhibition
HERE WE DANCE in the Level 2 Gallery, which is
in Tate Modern. You can find information about
this exhibition here: Level 2 Gallery
****************************
At my place you'll find a piano, a silver
and an old bone-and-ebony flute, an old
violin, a guitar for masochists and a baby
guitar that I found in a trashbin on
Allen Street in New York;
a charango, a small banjo, ukelele,
cavaquinho, quena, quenacho, doudouki,
chonguri, 2 panduri's and 2 salamuri's.
And a cat, Pous Bennidikdus
which means "Pope 'So Im not fat' "
I can't play violin, can't play guitar (yet)
Play a little bit on the the piano and the
salamuri. Play quena and ~cho, uke, chonguri
and panduri regularly, and I really play the
flute... but I daily play charango
And I wish I never sold my bass flute...
I've been playing the bass flute for 10 years,
in the Netherlands Flute Orchestra , the NLfo
An orchestra of 30 flutes, piccolo to subcontrabass
flute, conducted by Jorge Caryevschi. I was often
sitting next to contrabass player and buddy Ned :)
In those years we have been playing a wide variety
of music, from classical to very contemporary
compositions. One beautiful example,
a piece by Christine Mennesson .
A very soothing piece, probably one of the best
pieces written for Flute Orchestra... Too bad
she hasn't put the whole piece on.
Please take your time to listen to
Une Lumineuse Migration Blanche
by Christine Mennesson
One day I'll buy a new improved Hogenhuis bass.
Or a cane one... A~nnelies Moceño Middel? :)
Next on my wish list are: a ronroco,
a quatro and a mandolin..
When will it stop..?!
Before or after the tiple?
Oh! And I love to sing!
Now I said everything.
... as you can see, music is on my mind,
but did I mention I'm a painter..?
I'm a painter.
And art teacher on an art academy.
I should have started there, and ended
with the list of instruments..
