About Me

Heart for food was born April 4th 2008.
A~ and Hanne, idealists, friends, sisters and brainstormers
got the spirit that day and started this page.
We hope you love our recipes as much as we do.

PS: We're still looking for someone who translates some recipes in Spanish.. A~? John? Marco? Anyone? :)
Healthy and Vegetarian Foods!
Nature has al kinds of delicious and pure foods for us and when we use some creativity we can create paradise in food-world!
We support the idea that the best food is the food the body gets energy from, instead of using that energy to digest.
It's a challenge to discover alternatives for the regular kind of snacks and other foods that can harm the body, so we have at least the choice to let go of unhealthy (and irresistable) things we can't resist, like candy made of sugar, fried things like potato chips and fries, dairy ice cream, etc.
And, every step towards health is one!
One day of healthy food is one step towards food awareness. You will probably still enjoy your fries the next day, but something has changed. And there you go!

This coco is rich, delicious and very, very special.
You have to try it!

For deep satisfaction when you're in need for chocolate.
No milk
No sugar

-cocoa (cacao in dutch)
-rice milk
-coconut milk or coconut milk powder
-cardamom seeds (1 seed per person)
-half a star anise (about 2/3 seeds per person)
-chili pepper
-and you need a hammer :)
Poor the rice milk in a pan, on low heat. Put the star anise and the cardamom seeds on a wooden block, and SLAM with the hammer, flatten the seeds. Add this to the rice milk. This will naturally sweeten the drink, together with the kind of sweet flavour of the rice milk. Add some of the coconut milk or powder. Add a little pepper and while stirring, add cocoa through a strainer (zeef in dutch), as much as you like. Bring to a short boil, then poor through strainer in cups.
Making it for kids?
Leave the pepper out, and add a little honey
This is truly delicious. I promise!
