I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I play drums, currently for Mary O. Harrison and occasionally with Jeff Evans of Chickens and Pigs . I'm also a mediocre (at best) guitar player but fancy myself a decent songwriter and I'm working on releasing a little EP, hopefully sometime in the summer/fall of 2008. Check out my solo project, The Good Graces , for the info on that. I am also a fish taco connoisseur (and I mean the actual food, get your mind out of the gutter! That's gross). And finally, I can clog, rub my belly and pat my head all at the same time!

During the day, I work too hard as a software development project manager. And because everyone needs an expensive hobby, my extra time (what's that?) and money go to putting out good records .

Oh yeah, and I blog.

My Interests

music (playing and listening to), bad reality tv shows, duke basketball, singing heavy metal songs in opera style, making fun of the president, diners, downows, talking, not talking, chai tea, autumn weather, being obsessed with visiting the west coast, yoga, buddhism, hanging out with my hubbie and my awesome dogs Buddy and Churchill and coolest cat ever Snowden

I'd like to meet:

people who appreciate those who snort while laughing. and I still want to meet Dwight Shrute too. and Jimmy Carter.

PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT want to meet singles, people looking for dates, or naked girls. Thanks anyway.

Music:

here lately... wisely + the national + the mountain goats + shout out louds + bon iver + band of horses + north elementary + the majestic twelve + yeasayer + my morning jacket +gregg yeti & the best lights + georgie james + citified + chickens and pigs + bobby bare jr. + billy bragg + npr

Movies:

Little Miss Sunshine is my favorite movie ever. Others I loved: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Vanilla Sky, The Anniversary Party, Wedding Crashers, The Break-Up, Meet the Parents/Fockers, The Savages, Juno, ONCE

Television:

I grew up in a family who constantly had the tv on, and I happen to think I turned out ok. My vices: bad reality tv ala big brother and the hills (although calling that one "reality tv" is a bit of a stretch), and also good reality tv such as top chef and project runway. also grey's anatomy, the office, CAMPUS LADIES, studio 60 (RIP :( ), Flight of the Conchords, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and yes I must admit -- American Idol (go Brooke!). i absolutely loved starved -- one of the best comedies to grace our television. R.I.P., along that same tip (cancelled) - arrested development was oh so funny. lastly but not leastly, i was a huge friends fan back in the day. oh and not to get off on a tangent but i also enjoyed dawson's creek and was an extra in the very first episode. we wondered why it looked like they pulled katie holmes right off the street and didn't make her change clothes and put on makeup. and that guy that liked jenn and who later got a big role on felicity - worst. actor. ever. couldn't remember a line to save his life!

Books:

Hugh Kennedy - Everything Looks Impressive; Helene Stapinski - Baby Plays Around (have you ever read a book that seems like it's so much about you that it's scary?); anything by Laurie Notaro or Hollis Gillespie; Eat Pray Love; Dan Kennedy's Rock On; books about Buddhism

Heroes:

my brother, my parents, kim gordon, mo tucker, jimmy carter, oprah. people who live their life in the most honest way possible, staying true to themselves and never forgetting where they came from and where they want to go.

WE Fest

So I made it through another WE Fest. It was weird, wonderful, happy and sad all at once. Majestic Twelve rocked my damn face off the first night; I swear it blows me away that they are so much better...

Band of the moment - The Slip

Typically my "band of the moment"s are either friends of mine or local bands I've stumbled onto recently, but right now I just had to write something about Boston's The Slip (signed to one of my favor...
