Listen above to the theme song we wrote for Album 88's Georgia Music Show! We think it's kinda catchy and are honored that we were asked to participate.
Tyyt was spawned in Atlanta, GA around 2000. We play edgy pop music with loud guitars, lots of bass, heavy drums and Andy's sultry voice. The press has said that tyyt is "one of Atlanta's brightest lights in the foggy pop underground," The Yum Yum Tree "recalls the best moments of late 80's Pixies and Throwing Muses without borrowing directly from the source." But you can tell us what you think. The Yum Yum Tree is currently on hiatus as Andy is going out to California for a while to explore and maybe write a little.
Andy grew up in Texas and played in bands such as The Lost Episode, The Mail Order Brides and Secret Goldfish from the time she was a wee 15. The beloved and talented man behind the drums (Alex Pilson, rumored to be related to that dude from Dokken) came to tyyt after playing with the infamous Shrunken Head as well a Bachelor Red. Tim hails from Charlotte and spent many years playing for Doubting Thomas before he came to us.
Reverse Engines, our debut LP received college radio play across the country, and was on the best releases lists of 2002 for both the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Creative Loafing. Folks like you also told us they liked it and people that we don't know still buy it -- So that makes us proud. Our second full length, Paint By Numbers, is available on Two Sheds Music and has been well received. You can listen to tracks from both above.
