The Brunell Family Foundation strives to improve the quality of life for children and families during a time of life-changing trauma; through emotional, physical and financial support,
to better improve the overall wellness and strength of the family or individual. I believe God has a reason for each of us to be on this planet. If we are willing to trust Him and submit our lives to His
will, then we can be confident that we are right where He would want us to be. Jeremiah 29:11 says that God has a plan
for each of our lives and trusting in that gives me hope and peace. I know that even when life gets difficult and I don’t
have all the answers, God is there and will guide me. I have been a big fan of U2 since high school. I still enjoy listening to their music, especially the old stuff. In college,
most of my friends listened to country music and I began y that as well. My favorite country artist is George Strait. Most of the music I listen to now is contemporary
Christian music. I like the Newsboys, Third Day, DC Talk, and Jeremy Camp. My favorite all time Christian artist is Keith
Green. I started listening to him when I gave my life to the Lord, so his music has a lot of meaning and inspiration to me.
My wife Stacy and I like to listen to 80’s music when we can. We laugh, because we know just about every word to every song and are embarrassed to admit it. Of course during the holidays the only music in the Brunell house is Christmas music. For about 2 months, every hour of the day you can hear almost every Christmas song ever written. I love movies. My All time favorite is Braveheart. But if I had to pick, my Top 5 would be: Braveheart, Field of Dreams. Gladiator, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Every Rocky movie (except Rocky 5). There are so many other great movies I like.
I’ve had fun introducing some of them to my sons. My 13 year old, Jake, and I recently watched the Rocky movies
together. He loves’em. There are a lot of actors I enjoy watching: Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Clint Eastwood, Harrison
Ford, Kurt Russell, Russell Crowe, and Sean Connery. Sean Connery is probably my favorite actor. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I’m a HUGE 24 fan and recently started watching Lost. I won’t watch them during their
seasons, so I buy the DVD sets when they come out. (I’m afraid I might miss an episode and I don’t trust my DVR).
That’s pretty much all the TV I will watch. Stacy and I will watch House when we get a chance. I can’t seem to get into
the reality shows and I don’t like ESPN (I get enough sports at work). Although, I will watch NFL games if I have a
friend who is either coaching or playing on that team. The greatest all time, best TV show in the history of all TV, is The
Six Million Dollar Man, with Lee Majors as Colonel Steve Austin. There, I said it. Every guy my age, who at that time had
TV at home loved that show. I actually have every episode on DVD. Stacy got it for me last Christmas. It was certainly one of my favorite gifts. I read the Bible every day. It’s my favorite book. I believe it to be God’s Word and His truth for all people and I have chosen to build my life on it. I simply believe what it says from the beginning to the end. It’s the message of hope and truth for this world. I read a lot of other
books when I have the time. I enjoy biographies and history books and I recently read books on Winston Churchill and George Washington. I like war books, such as Band of Brothers. Occasionally, I’ll read an action/adventure, fiction book or spy novel. My favorite author in that genre is Clive Cussler. I recently was introduced to Vince Flynn’s books which I find very interesting.
