About Me

whoismarkmaccora.com
I spend far too much time analyzing myself and those around me. If you're close, you're probably in the crosshairs. During the last few years the difficulty in differentiating my life from a narrative has increased, and I expend much energy deciphering and marrying the two. Most of the things I say are simple, honest, and intended to make someone laugh. Weekly some random person recognizes me as being an old friend from back home, but they are correct less than 5% of the time. Since my life is all about stress and scuttle, I write the life I wish, though if I lived that I'd still want to make a movie about it. Animals and kids generally immediately accept and love me. I think they sense I'm more similar to them than most of the adults.
Justice and Morality: You believe in doing what is
right for others and maybe even for yourself.
People would consider you one with good morals,
and someone who would not let them down.
Which Characteristic From the Samurai Code Matches You Best? (You may find out your best trait)
brought to you by Quizilla
You are the Marquis Da Sade. Even stripped of
exaggerations, Your real life was as dramatic
and as tragic as a cautionary tale. Born to an
ancient and noble house, you were married
(against your wishes) to a middle-class heiress
for money, caused scandals with prostitutes and
with your sister-in-law, thus enraging your
mother-in-law, who had you imprisoned under a
lettre de cachet for 14 years until the
Revolution freed you. Amphibian, protean,
charming, you became a Revolutionary,
miraculously escaping the guillotine during the
Terror, only to be arrested later for
publishing your erotic novels. You spent your
final 12 years in the insane asylum at
Charenton, where you caused another scandal by
directing plays using inmates and professional
actors. You died there in 1814, virtually in
the arms of your teenage mistress. You are a revolutionary deviant. I applaud you.

ADORABLE CUTENESS TO THE EXTREME:

Making Media (Acting, Writing, blah blah, Everything), Cooking Dangerously, Shaking my quote unquote groove thang, Discussing Philosophy and Art, working out (weights, pilates, yoga, hip-hop, maybe a little kickboxing), Stanking tru 2 my inner Funkitude. Though I love it, I'm usually far too busy for sleep. It can be HELL on my skin:

I'd like to meet:

Insane comets careening through life carelessly, with burning phosphorous lighting bright our bleak space. I find a lot of people interesting. I have a weakness for beautiful, talented, talkative women.

Music:

BUY J DILLA DOUGHNUTS! Talk about Transcendent Hip Hop! Otherwise: Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Elvis Costello, all incarnations of Parliament/Funkadelic, Vivaldi, Miles Davis, David Bowie, Jamiroquai, OutKast, Prince, D'Angelo, The Rolling Stones, Eric Dolphy, Mos Def, Nas, Grandaddy, The Who, and the master genius Stevie Wonder. Bands on MySpace I think will blow up: Bedtime for Toys, Telecast, The Surge

Movies:

This could go on forever, so I will say this: movies that sublimate beyond art and entertainment into an instructive emotional experience. A few examples: Dogville, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and all of Kurosawa.

Television:

Anything that pushes beyond placebo: The Cosby Show, The Office, Adult Swim, and The Simpsons.

Books:

Tao Te Ching, Faulkner, Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates, A Confederacy of Dunces, Chuck Pahaliniuk, Brett Easton Ellis, Their Eyes were Watching God, A People's History of the United States, The Ohlone Way, and the Gospel of Thomas. And comics. Because I'm a geek.Your results:

Of course, Stevland. And the Baby Jesus, because he had all the powers of Desert Action AND Cross (Kung Fu Grip) Jesus but he was smaller, which means his powers were denser. You can't front on density, bitch!

Screenplay draft finished!

I did it. Another draft done in my battle with this monstrous action/spiritual script. It's insane how ideas evolve, and how they develop to become different from original intentions. This idea is tru...
