About Me

Hard. Pounding. Energy. 3 words to describe both the style of music to be expected from Elekid, as well as the vibe during Elekid's live sets. For 10 years, Elekid has gone around the country pouring his heart out into every one of his sets. He has brought with him a presence rarely seen by DJs. It's a positive presence; one where if you're there when he's on the decks, you WILL have fun.Born Jerry Greco III, has been influenced by electronic music since he was 8 years old. Having heard old Euro Dance, House, and Big Beat on the radio, he was drawn to the amazing positive energy that each song and mix brought with them. By 10 he was going to a local mix store down the street from his grammar school after school to buy bootleg House, Ghetto House, and Latin House tapes.By the age of 14, he received his first pair of turntables, cdj, and mixer. From that point on he was DJ Statico. He didn't play much out of his basement during that time. The only time he would perform outside of his home was at house parties that kids from his high school threw. They weren't much, but it was enough for him to become comfortable playing in front of a crowd. During the same time, he submitted a 30 minute mix to a contest that the legendary Hard House label, Underground Construction was holding. He was among the chosen winners to have their mix featured on their website. In 2001, age 17, Jerry got his first 'rave' booking at a small afterhours just outside Chicago, IL. From there on, he knew for sure that music was not just a hobby anymore, but a passion. With the experience and knowledge gained over the years, Jerry has improved and changed the way he's performed, as well as his performing name. In 2003, he became known as Elekid, and has never looked back...
