Michelle's Sugar Shack

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.

About Me

I have a passion for food. While growing up, I learned to trust my taste buds and not just my eyes. I tried foods from different cultures as my family traveled from state to state and throughout Asia.I began learning authentic Mexican dishes from my mother. While in Japan, I was part of a school student exchange program and the family I stayed with owned several local restaurants. My family and there’s became close friends and exchanged recipes and taught each other authentic meals from each others culture.I attended the Pittsburgh Culinary School...unfortunately, due to family emergencies, I did not finish. I did learn so much about baking. I decided to start my business off small. While in West Virginia, I sold my cheesecakes to local restaurants and friends. My business is "Shell's Sugar Shack"...I am an Entrepreneur who specializes in High Quality (sugar and sugar free) desserts and bake goods.Shell's Sugar Shack has exclusive desserts using the best ingredients for those with a sweet tooth, diabetics who miss having desserts and those counting their calories.Whether you’re an adult taking control of your sugar in-take or a parent watching your child's sugar in-take... I'd like to meet:

I was born in Wichita, Kansas in June 1978. My father was serving in the United States Marine Corps and we traveled a lot (military brat is what they called us). Although I was born in Kansas, home was always Brownsville,Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. Our temp. home was where we lived at during the time. Japan had the most impact on me...I love the culture and the food. While growing up, I had the opportunity to experiance many different foods. The military is like a United Nations of culture and I associated the cultures with their foods. Southern cooking from Florida, the Carolina's, Georgia (lived in Albany), Tennessee , Mississippi, Lousiana and Texas. Then Oklahoma, California, of course Kansas and then to Virginia. The last few years I have traveled between Texas, Wisconsin, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and now in North Carolina.I love all foods. As a Baker, I began to specialize in cheesecakes but I became a diabetic and I soon started to reteach myself to make sugar-free deserts for those of us who love quality deserts and normally get some store bought stale thing that has been processed and wrapped for ever.I hope to share my cheesecakes and cookies with all of you. Thanks for stopping at my page and I hope you try some of my delights.
