Painting, Art, Music, Dj'ing, Writing, Reading. Many Many more things.
Like minded lovers of the arts and electronic music. I look forward to meeting other producers and dj's along with other great people on this board whom I could become very good friends with. If you are into Progressive house music. House. Tech house. Electro house. I've got it all going on for me. Along with the dj sets to let you know about my many loves of house music.
Death to all fake ass EDM producers who take all the credit for something someone toiled over for weeks, only to receive no praise for it at all. You know who you are!
I have a deep love for any kind of music which has a lot of passion and beauty in it. I have a deep acceptance of atmospheric and space musics. IDM is also in my heart. There is nothing like zoning out to that music, the clicks and cuts are to open my mind and allow me to see like never before.
House keeps my body moving. And I love to shake my ass as I dj. Those funky 4X4 beats are keeping me coming back for more and more. Dirty, clean, nasty, filthy, sexy, dark, deep, prog house music is where it's at.
I can't forget my rock and roll roots. 80's new wave is always great to bring my heart back to when it was younger and more innocent. I can't forget about how much energy is in the 80's to mid 90's thrash metal. Metallica, Anthrax, Testament, King's X, Living Colour and so many more.
I LOVE comedies!!!!!!!! Romantic comedies are excellent...when they are not too cheesy. Bachelor Party is my favorite bachelor party type film. Cannonball Run is my favorite car movie. Caddyshack is my favorite golf movie...followed by Tin Cup. I have a favorite for nearly everything. But my all time favorite film isn't even from America.
Tous Les Matins Du Monde...All the Mornings of the World
What a film. Passionate, true and gut wrenching. Try watching it and not being moved.
I love a lot of foreign films. Mostly Italian, French and Japanese.
Seinfeld is still my absolute favorite show. Followed close by The Cosby Show. Those two shows I can never get tired of. Rescue Me is the only drama show that I watch. Mostly because it is so realistic. That and it happens to be very funny. Entourage is another show I've been getting more and more into. Can't wait for that third season. That 70's show is also another funny show that I love watching. I also enjoy watching cooking shows. Particularly the shows by Jamie Oliver, and Anthony Bourdain.
I have a small collection of Art books on my favorite painters. Brice Marden, Joseph Marioni, Mark Rothko, Georg Baselitz Fabian Marcaccio, Simon Hantai, Fredrick Matys Thursz, Rudolph De Crignis, Ulrich Wellmann, David Reed, De Kooning, Basquiat, Morris Louis, Milton Resnick, Clemente, and Julian Stanczak.
You wanna read something REALLY good? Check out Victor Wooten's book, "The Music Lesson". You will learn a lot about Music, but also a lot about life and passions.
People that I look up to are those which I have much to learn from. Joseph Marioni is a great teacher to me and a great friend. My Father and Mother are two very wonderful people. I would love to have the opportunity to become friends with people such as Sasha and John Digweed, as I believe they are two of the greatest dj's to ever be. I would also like to meet John Dahlback as I believe he has done more for dance music than people give him credit for.
As far as those whom I look up to in the Artist community, it would begin with my teacher and friend Joseph Marioni. Immediately followed by Brice Marden, whom I would love to meet and get to know. Klaus Kertess is IMO the best Art writer out there. And I only wish that his gallery were still around. I look up to many other artists for other reasons. Julian Schnabel for his guts and braveness. Richard Serra for being the greatest sculptor ever, and teaching me many things. Jen-Michel Basquiat for showing me that even scribbles on a surface can be extremely beautiful, and to also stay away from drugs.
