Music:
Rock, metal, smooth jazz, reggae, surf, oldies, techno, new age, swing, rockabilly - you name it! Not real big on country, and for the most part you can keep the rap/hip-hop to yourself.
Movies:
The Princess Bride - the best movie ever! Plot, character development, humor, romance, action, quotable lines - it's the perfect movie for all ages and remains timeless. Other than that, it's mostly comedies and action flix, with some drama: All the Monty Python flicks: Holy Grail, Life Of Brian, Meaning of Life; The whole John Hughes 80's series: Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller, (not so much St. Elmo's Fire), Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, 'new classics' like the Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, Trading Places; Any Kevin Smith movie: Clerks, Mallrats, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back; big epics like Braveheart, The Lord of the Rings trilogy; Close Encounters; Christopher Guest/Michael Mckean improv movies: This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind; Pirates of the Caribbean; Meet the Parents/Fockers; I'll think of more later...
Television:
Mythbusters; Dirty Jobs; Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC); The Amazing Race (TAR); Survivor; All the Law & Orders; Iron Chef & Iron Chef America; MadTV; SCTV (late nite reruns); Jeopardy!; Battlebots (well, when it used to be on...)
