I am here for Friends

About Me

Born a "Valley Girl" I grew up in the San Fernando Valley in the days, Cruzin' Van Nuys Blvd. Street Races, Dirt Bikes, Drive-in Movies, Gemco, Fedco, Northridge Skating Rink and you could still attend public schools & buy smokes out of the machine for bout 50 cents. Best of all, we always had Garage Bands and Tennis Court Kegger Parties in Knollwood! I am a semi retired Landscape Designer, I live with the Mr. my two young adults K-Dizzle & ReiLlY & a 5 LB. female Chihuahua. Life is good! My Son can sum up a movie in less than 30 seconds seriously, He can write, draw, paint and play Drums, and makes me laugh endlessly, he is Brilliant. At this time RJ is a Studio Grip and is finishing college. My Daughter is a Dancer, Ballerina, a Sr. in High School and works at a local Flower Shop. She is Beautiful, Smart and talented! Check Rob out here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0717737/ Hey, did I mention Tiki?
Go watch KD dance last year in a Lyrical Dance titled, "The Promise" at: http://www.halloffamedance.com/halloffame/watchvideo.aspx?id =1141
KD is 2nd from the left in this photo and has long blond hair, is the shortest and twirls on the way into the dance, also is at the bottom of the dog pile part... got it? Go watch it.

I'd like to meet:

Funny people, who make me laugh without end. Ridiculously smart people make me tingle... Tiki Mug collectors, got to dig, Disneyland, Music, Concerts, Theater, Golf, Travel, Road trips, and Hangin' at the Beach. Studies of Polynesian culture, myths & folklore. It Occurs to me that no matter how I fill this section out it sounds like "For a good time call..." NO one needs to go there. I'm just here for my own entertainment and cheap laughs so if you laugh fine. Don't take anything here too deeply or I will make fun of you till you cry. I am inquisitive if your not to boring I might even watch your home videos...depending...Do not ask me if I want to hook up or what I'm wearing right now. Oh! and don't send me your naked pictures! well... ok maybe but only if you've seen any part of me naked!
THE KONA CLUB MUG "The Most Beautiful Tiki Mug In The World" A Custom, Commissioned Kona Tiki Mug Made for Me by Crazy Al Evans. Take note of the Real Gold lettering, Sea Turtles, House Details & all the Wonderful Hand Embellishments highlighted by Crazy Al Thanks Al! What Al had to say; "Sculpted by Crazy Al Evans to match the hard work Bamboo Ben and Al did while decking out the Kona Club in Oakland CA. Find the same tapa designs from the walls of the Kona and Rope-a-dope bamboo. Find Ben's own Tapa Wrapped Bamboo and fish bone wall matting, find the walls of the painting gallery... Looking inland at a pre-Cpt.Cooke view at the bay where Doug owns his HI. house, set right next to an actual Hawaiian temple State Monument" All is found and duplicated in Crazy Al Evan's Kona Club Mug.
HiPhiP's "BIRD OF PARADISE" I was impressed by Tiki Artist Babalu's (aka Rick Henderson) mugs, "Man o' War and "The Bird" that a few months ago I had Babalu twist and turn some ideas and make me up a one of a kind for myself. I opened it and it was AMAZING! I knew it was an extraordinary piece of art.
Back in September of '07 I knew Christmas was coming faster than we ever count on. I was on the search for a "Custom Mug" I could gift to a few collectors that went WAY out of their way this year for me. These collectors never seize to amaze or surprise me.
The clock is ticking, and because he is Brilliant, I got in touch with Babalu, I knew Rick was the talent I wanted. I had this picture in my head all complete. A "BIRD of PARADISE" a twist on the "Bird" So we chatted, and Rick knew instantly what I was envisioning. I told him, "It has to be about the things I love, I am a Landscaper, I love color, plants, nature. I love the Ocean, Tiki, Sweet Cocktails and MUGS! Oh, and I'm Irish, I need a Shamrock on it somewhere"
Many chit chats later we had what needed to be done to make it truly of it's own and limited to 5, 4 standard edition and 1- A/P never to be made again. Incorporated are the things I love, nature, the ocean, color and tiki. I dig the lil' tiki peeking through, Babalu's signature man also peeking through those tentacles, a headdress that mimics the plant and a ever so sweet nectar drink formula and that Shamrock.
16 Glazes on these birds, No Bull No molds on the heads of these fine flocks of feathers, the headdresses are too delicate therefore no 2 alike. Thanks to the talent of Cammo as well who was in on the whole process and made these lovely hang tags or cards and they are Fabulous, Mahalo Bradha... So no further ado... Hiphip's "BIRD OF PARADISE" By Babalu. A Million Mahalo's!

Music:

"It is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before. It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.
It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom. Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune. Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from time to time.
Talk Talk - I've felt the coldness of my winter I never thought it would ever go. I cursed the gloom that set upon us... But I know that I love you so
These are the seasons of emotion and like the winds they rise and fall This is the wonder of devotion - I seek the torch we all must hold. This is the mystery of the quotient - Upon us all a little rain must fall...It's just a little rain..."
My taste in music is quite eclectic, I dig: SOUL Music, Pop, Oldies, Classic Rock, Funk, Reggie, Standards, Jazz(mostly Be-Bop, Swing)Indie, Surf, Rockabilly and exotica. I am so not listing every band, act, I ever liked too insane. If I start I won't be able to stop. The Beatles(hit me up with your trivia) Tower of Power, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Brecker Brothers, Winton, no need to list, they know who they are...Van Morrison, Al Green, The Isley Brothers, Sly & the family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Train, Janet Jackson, Tony Bennett, Miles Davis, Maynard Ferguson, Al Hurt, Lew Soloff, Herb Alpert & the TJ Brass, Burt Bacharach and Hans Zimmer are both genius, (ok the Carpenters too damn it!)Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, Vince Guaraldi, Cher, Rilo Kiley, The Stylistics, pretty much all other Horn Bands, The Stills, Elton John, ass loads of 80's gay ass new wave bands and one hit wonders with bad hair, Jack's Mannequin, Death Cab for Cuties, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

OK! The fucking "Pata Pata" This is a dance you were required to learn in Jr. High gym class. I ab-so-fuckin-luely refused to learn it and I walked a white dotted line for a week and took an "F"... retarded damn dance. But Donna being all cute and tiny had gym class 7th period, I would watch her dance the "Pata Pata" out the open classroom door every day. She knew the dance well of course being a straight "A" student with her lil' red Porter gym shorts all rolled up looking all cute.... So, I am listening to the "fucking "Pata Pata" and dancing on my kitchen floor as I try to write this.... I always knew the dumb ass dance, it just wasn't cool...unless you were Donna Johnson...
