Perhaps the wonders which inspire both artist and scientist alike are but one and the same. The act of being mystified at the enormity of life, and fascinated with all the curiosity, the amazement and beauty of this world we live in, is universally the same act. Namely: the act of being “sentient.†And the proof of sentience becomes evident when a person is able to step outside of themselves, and view the world with open eyes. To be able to see things which lei outside of our own frame of reference is the greatest proof that we are not just physical creatures. And from this yearning to reach out of our own reference point and capture a truth which is beyond our self, comes the greatest of art, and the most profound of scientific achievements. To contribute to the enrichment of humanity, and leave behind a stepping stone to something new… that right there is the fruit of being sentient.
And now for an E-Quote... or two:
“A gem in your hand is more precious than a pocket full of pebbles.â€
“There is not too much that can’t be said, but it’s safe to say one can say too much.â€
“A thing is not only what it is unto itself, but what it is to everything else as well.â€
“Religion is not of God, but of mankind’s’ inability to relate to him.â€
“It is better to pontificate, then to tell someone what to think.â€
"To complexify the simplistic is indeed artistic, but to simplify the complex is proof of much wisdom."
“If reality is more crazy then the human mind can fathom, then isn’t it odd that we say crazy people have lost their grip on it???â€
"Seeing the big picture is a lot like seeing a bunch of little pictures. They just happen to all be connected."
And yes! I DO love to quote myself… and you can quote me on that ^_^
