About Me

EXPO '70 is mainly late night improvisations. Mostly solo these days, but initially started with Paul Kneejie, who is always in bands like The Pope, Bipolar Beat, White Suits Brown Boots, but he lives in California and i am in Kansas City. We jammed with Bryan Levine and recorded that which became "Juy 18, 2004", Paul & I were completely hung over that morning, having spent the night at some crazy party downtown LA, some punk show & kids were hangin' from the fire sprinklers, they bust & water was everywhere, then the police & fire trucks came. We played The Smell and 2 people watched us shortly after that. Been in some bands in California, Living Science Foundation, Electric Sky, Spacecobra.
**^** 2005 **^** Decided to move to KC from LA. Met some nice peeps, jam with McKinley jones of Cantus Firmus when I first arrived back in town. Compiled some albums out of improv sets, "Surfaces" & "Exquisite Lust". Then I tried my recording abilities while living in a huge loft, spent 3 nights layering heavy loops while drinking a bit of wine & created "Center of the Earth". had to move outta that place, got a Kustom 100 watt 2x12 & recorded what is now "Eagle Talons" & "Mahogany Lake" which was the starting point for "Animism". Spent the next 4 months working on that with not the best recoridng methods, but managed to wind up with something quite mesmerizing, the tones and sounds were unearthed from depths I was unaware of. Was asked to come up with music for a wedding shortly after 2007 came for a good friend of mine I used to work with in San Francisco. Got the help from friends to accompany me like Aaron Martin, McKinley Jones, Matt Hill, Nate Lewis & Samantha of Travoltron oh and Bronson of Lovers in Transit. Mainly produced & constructed it out of these improv sessions which became 10 tracks, extremely limited hand packaged release.
**^** Spring 2007 **^** Matt Hill & I jammed & gigged with Ettrick & Duane Pitre in KC then toured California, got loose & caused some trouble. Giggin' with Rahdunes late September, recording them as well and working on new stuff for the rest of the year.
