Katie Buono is a new composer, experimenting with various genres and the breaking of borders between them. Initially studying classical and jazz voice, as well as playing with a variety of quirky instruments on her own time, her early work contains unique folk, alternative, ambient, and classical - inspired music. ("et il commence" released in 2007).Eager to broaden her horizons, she's continuing her electronic music and composition studies; in addition to fun quirky acoustic music, her more recent works include pieces for small chamber ensembles, electronic compositions, interactive works for acoustic instruments and computer, and self-performed and recorded electro-acoustic songs.She's also extremely passionate about cross-disciplined arts. Having participated in theater, dance, and visual art throughout her life, she longs to implant her love for music composition into a variety of artistic venues. She has experience as a sound designer for theater productions, composer for dance, and composer and live effects operator for experimental, multi-faceted story-telling projects; she is excited to continue collaborating with other artists, and especially looks forward to writing music for film.For contact, please email
