About Me

A victory for marriage

Now all Californians have the freedom to marry the person they love.

We want you to be a part of this historic moment.

Please join us to celebrate our love.

Make plans now to attend one of the Celebration of Love and Family events across the state tomorrow evening. Bring your family, friends and a California flag. Events will be held in cities across the state. Please bring a California flag and your pride. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
SIGN THE PLEDGE! Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people, like all other Californians, should have the freedom to marry the person they love.

Get Our Ad Seen!

Have you seen it yet? Our Ad has been proven to open the hearts and minds of Californians who need to be educated about the freedom to marry. We need YOUR help to keep it running. Watch the ad.

My Interests

Let California Ring is a public education campaign to open hearts and minds about the freedom to marry.

Our goal is to engage at least 1 million Californians in a conversation about the freedom to marry because every day lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Californians are denied this basic human choice. These conversations will build public support until we reach a tipping point in California: when all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people have the freedom to marry and the dignity, honor, and respect that come with marriage. Sign the pledge.

Our Stories

Is there anything as moving as a love story? That's what Let California Ring is all about: real stories with real people talking from the heart about why the freedom to marry is important to them.
Have you fallen in love only to be denied the freedom to marry? Have you been motivated to stand up for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community from seeing first-hand the inequality with which a friend or family member is treated? Or maybe you were transformed into a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender supporter after having a humanizing conversation with a neighbor or colleague. Either way, read some of our stories and then share yours .
Dave and I met at the gym where I worked and where he worked out. After four months of checking him in at the front desk, Dave finally worked up the courage to say to me; "Hi…um…. I race here on my bike almost every day to see you before your shift ends." Nervously, I responded, "Well… I stay later waiting to check you in." - Bryon, Chicago
In the 1950's, when I was a teenager in Flint, Michigan, I fell in love. Bill was tall, dark and handsome. I moved in with he and his mother after my father kicked me out of our house because of my association with Bill. I refused to give up Bill. - Marvin, Hayworth
We talked about marriage, a lot. But for Mike and me it seemed wrong to take advantage of a right that was denied to so many of our gay and lesbian friends. How could we invite them to celebrate our joy in a ceremony that would only be a cruel reminder of what they could not have?
So Mike and I decided that as a part of our marriage celebration, we would stand before our community and take a vow: to do everything within our power to fight for the freedom to marry for all those who are denied that right.
- Thalia, Los Angeles
Now that we are finally together and extra in love, a wedding will not make change the way I feel about Monifa. But, it will help my family and friends understand the seriousness of our relationship and stop calling us friends. - Maya, Oakland
