Biography
Jenna Lacy was born in 1985 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Due to the high cost of living, at the age of seven, Jenna and her mother moved to Kentucky in order to have a less financially demanding life. Growing up, she always had a natural ear for music, but her family couldn't afford to buy her a guitar until her 15th birthday. After school, she would come home and play for hours in her room, recording everything onto blank tapes. At first she was inspired by bands such as Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Goo Goo Dolls and even Avril Lavigne. After three years of writing, she completed her first song at the age of 18. Unable to adapt to the culture shock of Kentucky, Jenna adamantly left only four days after her high-school graduation and moved to southern California to be as close to Hawaii as possible. As she settled in the area, she gained much needed musical inspiration that derived mainly from relationships. Whether good or bad, she suddenly had more to say then she could handle. After recording a few rough songs with a friend, she decided it was time to take her music much more seriously and find a producer who understood her musical direction and style. And that's exactly what happened. After living with two other musicians, networking was a lot easier than she expected. Twenty hours of recording and a giant dent in her savings account later, Beauty Bartender was recorded. It was uploaded online in December of 2007 and within just a few short weeks, people world-wide began messaging her, thrilled with the fact that there is an artist out there who they can relate to. Jenna is still recording in the studio, financially supporting her music on her own. She is expecting a demo to be finished by this summer.
