I'm a tattooed, mini-van driving, Stay at Home, Attachment Parenting Mommie-O. Half Nerd, Half Diva. My passion for books and thirst for knowledge rival my fetish for shoes, handbags and make-up. I love Framboise and the tunes of Django Reinhardt.
In my past life I was a clubbing Diva, completed 8 yrs of college (just for kicks) and worked a short gig in the trenches of Urgent Care and ER medicine. Those years were a blast and provided me with many a tale to tell, but I had no qualms about setting it all aside to settle down and start a family.
I have never been more fulfilled or content in my life than I am now in my career of SAHM and aspiring Domestic Goddess.
I am completely domestically challenged in all areas not related to food. My home is a veritable fall out zone despite my most stringent attempts at maintaining systems of cleaning and management.
Cooking and grocery shopping appear to be my forte. I've made significant progress in this area and now strive to cook and bake most meals from scratch. I've come a looooong way from my days of burning noodles!
Gardening and Yardwork.... I thought I was ready.... but I was wrooooong. I now understand that if a plant can't water or prune it's self then it doesn't belong in my garden. The Master Gardener down the road has issued a restraining order on behalf of my roses. I'm not allowed with in 20ft.
In addition to raising children, cooking, shopping and destroying my house, I have become active in my community through volunteer work and am presently serving as President for my local chapter of MOMS Club. Mothers Offering Mothers Support (MOMS) Club is an international non-profit organization of Stay-At-Home-Moms serving women, family and children's charities.
I suppose it's only fair that I let it be known I have some rather strong parenting beliefs. I'm a firm supporter of Attachment Parenting and Positive Guidance....Spanking is something fun for grown-ups, not to discipline kiddos! I believe in Breastfeeding and child led weaning, Baby-Wearing, Co-Sleeping, and interactive Stay At Home Parenting. I believe strengthening the nuclear family to be one of the greatest and most important gifts we can give our children.
I am Pro-Family, Pro-Choice, and Pro-Gay Marriage.
