About Me

I love food...as my waistline would show. However, I love more than the taste of food...I love everything food is. I love how the smell of food can make you feel like a 10 year old again in your mother's kitchen, and how food can be the thing that brings even strangers together. I love how the changing seasons can be marked by what is in our grocery store and how every area of our country is known for it's own "signature dish." That the kitchen has been called the heart of the home is no chance happening...You can catch your man through their stomach, you can grow strong children through nutrition, you can even help ward off disease by your diet.
In my home everything centers around food! Our day ends with some fabulous, or not so fabulous, dish that I have tossed together or slaved over...even if it took 10 minutes to throw together my family better believe I slaved over it! Every holiday is hosted at my home, with a slew of calls in the weeks before to find out "What are you making?" or "When do we eat?" and often the "Can you please make?" And though many refer to Thanksgiving as a "Thankless holiday" where were up before dawn and working like crazy...the thanks is in the full bellies, the pumpkin pies, and the call for a request of a recipe.
At least once a week I hear the words..."How did you make this?" or "Can you give me the recipe?" And unfortunatly my own family is subjected to a new dish everytime I have a whim but there are so many favorites I feel great knowing I can have something new for dinner every night of the week if I wanted to! Family dinner is important and I am hoping to bring that tradition back in my small way by offering you a new recipe every day to share with your family and friends. This site can provide you with recipes for dinner, lunch, breakfast, holidays, desserts, snacks, gatherings, potlucks, slow-cookers etc. And I will include tips and tricks I have gathered along the way. I will feature recipes from you (if you submit them) and you can even request certain things you looking for. I promise to include everyone as much as possible with these recipes. I really hope you come to love this site and use it as often as your other cooking sites.
***Please be aware that some recipes were gathered years ago and though I like to give credit where credit is due, I cannot always recall if it is something I got from a magazine, television show, or my own head. It is just a dish I know how to make. When able if my recipe came from some specific source I will make mention of this. Also, please be aware that though a recipe may look familiar or even be in your cookbook at home, I may be providing a change to the recipe making it original to myself or providing a tip, trick, or shortcut.
