I'm a Custom Baker ... and owner of Rolling Pin Productions in New York City.
I have appeared on Food Network ['Sugar Rush' and 'Top 5 Halloween'] and you can still see these segments in reruns on both Food Network and HGTV. My work has also appeared on CNN, The Today Show, and in print in various publications including 'Brides' and 'New York' magazines, the Dean and Deluca catalogue and Karen Duffy's 'Slob In The Kitchen' cookbook. My work will also be featured on the 'Martha Stewart Weddings' blog this Fall.
Rolling Pin Productions actually started out as a hobby and grew into what it is today largely through word of mouth from friends who received my 'cookie gifts'. I've never gone to Culinary School or worked in a professional kitchen. I just put 1000's of hours into teaching myself this edible art form and was blessed enough to have it pay off.
Me personally, well I'm an Italian Scorpio and most people guess 'Scorpio' right off when we meet if it comes up so that might describe me a bit :). I went to college initially for science but found way too much of a creative urge tugging at my heart ... so I enrolled at FIT. During that time, I worked for a bunch of people and my bookings included working as a hair model, a jewelry model, a make-up artist and a visual merchandiser for stores like Barney's. The Barney's exposure led to work as a production assistant/set dresser. I've also played the flute and sang for years and have been involved in bodybuilding. There were many other adventures ... and it's been a great ride so far!
With Rolling Pin Productions, I'm lucky to have an ever-changing [edible] canvas to express my artistic nature. Nearly everything inspires me somehow and I'm constantly curious. I think everyone should be.
