About Me

THE REISSUE SERIES: On January 9th 2007, Allumination Filmworks launched the American Beat Records music label with the release of our first batch of classic reissue CD’s. Included in that first batch were discs from such artists as Brian Setzer, Gary U.S. Bonds, George Jones, Ian Hunter and Graham Parker. Since those first releases, we have continued to add to our reissue library on a monthly basis. Our roster now includes Joe Jackson, Haircut 100, Chuck Berry, Nils Lofgren, Willie Nelson and many other top-notch artists.

THE TRIBUTE TO SERIES: American Beat Records "Tribute To" series was conceived to pay tribute to the greatest artists of our time (The Beatles, Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones and many more). The difference between the "Tribute To" series and other tributes on the market is that we have filled each and every CD with Grammy Award winners and chart topping artists, not the unknowns that you will find elsewhere. Not only will these CD's appeal to the fans of the artists that are paid tribute to, but they will also appeal to fans of the performers on each CD; a win-win situation! We have once again assembled these tributes by genre to insure that if a customer likes one song on the CD, they should like every one!
THE SIXTIES SERIES: A decade of great rock & roll wrapped up in one series; it's American Beat Records "The Sixties Series"! Six CD's, 59 songs, and an amazing 58 of those are Billboard-charting tunes (including 55 Billboard Top 20 hits - 17 of those #1 songs). As always, American Beat Records only uses original artists-original hits; not inferior re-recordings. Every song on every American Beat Records CD is the same version that you heard on the radio. You won't find "Born To Be Wild" followed by "Moon River" here; every CD in the Sixties Series follows the American Beat Records credo that if you like one song on the CD, you should like them all - they're that focused!
THE SEVENTIES SERIES: What American Beat Records did for the 60's, we're now doing for the 70's: putting the best rock music together in a well-focused series called "The Seventies Series". Although each CD contains the best of the best rock music of the 70's, each CD spotlights a well defined area of rock music so that if one song appeals to a customer, all of them will. Hard rock fans have "Hard Rockin' 70's Vol. 1 & 2"; soft rock fans have "Soft Seventies Gold Vol. 1 & 2"; even bubblegum-music fans have their own CD! Out of the 80 songs presented in this series, 70 songs have charted in Billboard (with 51 Top 20 hits and 18 #1 hits)!!!
THE COVERED BY SERIES: Have you ever gone to a concert by one of your favorite performers and the highlight of the show is when they played a song that you didn't expect them to perform? The idea behind American Beat Records "Covered By" series was to take the greatest singers of our time and have them perform some of our favorite songs from some of today's greatest songwriters, and watch the sparks fly! We've got superstars such as Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash and The Beach Boys covering songs written by Lennon & McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Kris Kristofferson and many more of today's premier songwriters. A true one-of-a-kind collection!
THE GREETINGS FROM SERIES: American Beat Records "Greetings From" series was developed to capture the essence of the greatest cities, states, and regions in the good old USA. Although each CD will sell extremely well in the area that it represents, every one is filled with national chart-toppers that appeal throughout the world. As with all of American Beat Records audio series, "Greetings From" is genre specific and very well focused; if your customer likes one song on the CD, they should love them all! This series features 68 (out of 82) charting songs, with 57 Top 20 Hits (29 of those #1 Hits).
THE ALL-TIME GREATEST SERIES: The "All-Time Greatest" series is simply what the title states; the all-time greatest hits in each particular genre featured on that CD. Since American Beat Records is an independent music label, we are able to collect songs from all of the major labels and put them on one CD. That is something you will not find on any of the major label releases; the major labels always pull from on-roster artists. "All-Time Greatest" also offers something else that you won't find on the major labels: well-defined, focused and genre dedicated releases. This series features 132 songs; 113 of these songs have charted in Billboard Magazine, with 101 being Top 20 Hits (44 of those were #1 Hits).

COMING SOON:
The next batch of ABR reissues arrives on APRIL 22 and features music from APRIL WINE, FLAMIN' GROOVIES, DAVID JOHANSEN and PIPER.

Canadian hard-rockers April Wine, who can boast to having the first Canadian album to go platinum, scored a U.S. hit single in 1979 ("Roller" #34) with the release of First Glance (a pretty amazing accomplishment seeing as the airwaves were filled with Donna Summer, the Bee Gees and Rupert Holmes at the time!). All Music Guide calls this album "one of April Wine's finest releases", and recommends the album to all hard rock enthusiasts.

Believe it or not, there are many reviewers that would call the Flamin' Groovies one of America's greatest bands. Whether you agree or not, you can't argue with the fact that the band is both legendary and highly influential. Much more popular in Europe than in the States while they were recording, the Flamin' Groovies, and in particular Flamingo, have risen to cult superstar status in America. Flamingo, the first of three five-star releases during the early 70's, was originally released in 1970.

Only two years following his gig as front man for the New York Dolls, David Johansen emerged on the scene as a solo artist with this self-titled album, keeping the Dolls' sound alive yet singing with more confidence than he had his entire career. This is the album that also made Johansen the critics' darling, earning rave reviews including a 4 1/2 star review in All Music Guide! The song listing reads like a best of Johansen: "Funky But Chic", "Girls", "Donna", "Cool Metro" and more!David Johansen on the radio? Yes, it's true (and before he morphed into Buster Poindexter!). David's live album from 1982, appropriately titled Live It Up, garnered Johansen the most airplay of his career, with "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place/Don't Bring Me Down/It's My Life" reaching #28 on the mainstream rock charts. This album mixes the best of David's solo material with a couple Dolls tunes as well as some well-chosen cover tunes. Before Billy Squier sailed on to platinum success as a solo artist with songs such as "The Stroke" and "Everybody Wants You", he honed his chops in the band Piper. Piper, hailing from Boston MA, played power-pop on the heavy side (not too much unlike Squier's solo material). These two albums, never before on CD, are long sought after by Billy Squier fans and the power-pop scene alike!

I'd like to meet:
