The World Black consists of Vic Mendoza (Vocals, Programming, Bass and Guitar) and Willie Stenner (Guitar and Shouts). They used to play for a Christian Death Metal group called Ritual many years ago. Ritual disbanded in 1994 and the members went their seperate ways to pursue other interest in music.
In 2002 Vic and Willie decided to hang out one night and wrote a song together titled (In Me) which is about addiction. That was supposed to be a one time thing. They did not want any commitments between the two after the recordings.
After (In Me) was heard by others Vic and Willie were getting alot of good feedback from listeners. They decided to write another song called (Alone to Despair) a track about being alone and trying to fill a void with sensless acts. Because of the positive feedback, they decided to produce a three song demo to see how it does in the underground.
After many days of searching for a name for the project, they decided on The World Black and shortly after wrote the third song titled (Behind the Blinds) a song about personal abandonment. After the demo was done, The World Black was contacted by Psychoacoustix Records.
The World Black is now part of the PsychoAcoustix family!
A full length CD will be out soon called (Broken)
