Lyric Jones, eats, sleeps, and sings MUSIC. This "Jackie of all trades" plays the drums, sings, raps, and plays the bass. Representing for the ladies, Jones was raised in Boston, MA and is well-known in her community. This beautiful female is making moves, known for her anthem singing at Celtics games, to singing along side others at the KISS 108 concert which featured Ja Rule, Avril Lavrine and more. She's quite diverse from rapping & singing at local clubs and open mic nights in Boston working with artists like Raydar Ellis, Christian Scott, and local jazz bands and also performing gospel with artists such as Richard Smallwood, Kurt Carr and the list goes on. Her style can be seen similar to a mixture of Lauren Hill, Jill Scott, and MC Lyte. During her elementary school years is when the creative juices started flowing. First becoming a vocalist, she participated in church choirs and ventured to community choirs many times being the only young person. She participated in The Boston Millennium Chorus, well-know for performing with famous gospel personnel such as Mississippi Mass, Alvin Slaughter, and Richard Smallwood to name a few. She also joined the Boston Pops Gospel Choir which performs with the Pops Orchestra every summer and normally invites guest such a Darryl Coley. As High School approached Lyric realized her other inner talents such as acting, public speaking, and leadership by holding offices in many clubs at school and directing the Gospel Choir. Being evident that Gospel music is strongly instilled in her musical background, Lyric also grew up with Jazz, Classical, R&B, and Soul; which causes her to be so versatile today. As a sophomore in High School, Lyric was accepted to participate in the Berklee College of Music City Music Program and also received a full scholarship to the Summer 5-Week Program where she displays her drum techniques as well as vocal talent. Lyric is currently working on becoming the next big LADY and is on the right track with many mentors from Berklee College of Music. Currently she attends the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Although she is a broadcast news major, she continues to work endless on her music and released her first EP titled "Jones For Lyric" on August 13th 2007.Bio done by: Berklee College of Music Newsletter
