*A Light In A Dark Place,
A Fight For This Lost Race*
The GodBody’s soul-infused hip-hop binds the intelligent and socially relevant flows of SeNsE to the banging street soundscapes of beat-maker and fellow lyricist, MostArt. They represent musical distinction and awareness in a hip-hop community dominated by materialism and violence.
Dawaun Parker (Amadeus MostArt) and Tre' Guevera (Inner SeNsE) were united in 2001. Bound by a mutual affinity for what MostArt describes as “Golden Age Artists,†like: Nas, Dr. Dre, Biggie, Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Fugees, The GodBody was born.
While SeNsE grew up traveling across the United States absorbing ammo to arm his lyrical weapon, MostArt was nurturing an adept musical ear, earning him a full-tuition scholarship at Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music for his piano playing. While in Boston, The GodBody recruited Berklee’s finest musicians, forming their band, The GB’s. Captivating live performances earned them fans across the Northeast, highlighted by record-breaking “café show†gigs on Berklee’s campus. The GB’s proved themselves incessantly around the Northeast in venues ranging from small clubs to theatres; their talent was showcased to urban-based crowds and college campuses alike.
Presently, The GodBody reside in Los Angeles where they are recording their debut album, We Are The GodBody, to be released in late 2007. By day, Parker is a staff producer at Aftermath Entertainment, being esteemed as, "Dr. Dre's Apprentice." Just two short years out of college, Dawaun has three ..1 albums under his belt, supplying work on the latest albums from Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, and T.I. He has also collaborated with 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, D.O.C., Rodney Jerkins, Just Blaze and others.
SeNsE proclaims that he was influenced by the early 90’s era of hip-hop, but did not favor the left turn that it took as time progressed: “People needed to be aware of the movements that they were a part of through the music they listened to and sided with.†The GodBody views hip-hop as a multi-cultural language through which they convey their message. MostArt describes The GodBody’s role in their listeners’ lives stating, “We just want to make real dope music and bring some of that real hip-hop forward. We want to change the perception of what rap is, and what music is as a whole. What the public is being sold is not the truth.†The GodBody are set to influence the music landscape of today and beyond by giving the world their money’s worth.
