I'd like to meet:
cool, intelligent, and interesting people who aren't fake... ATTN. FAKE PEOPLE: PLEASE DON'T HIT ME UP ON THIS THING...I Stole this from my sister Erica's page who she stole from my cousin April's page but I couldn't pass this one up about "Us" and where we are from.....my cousin april said it best: "I'm from a little country south of here connecting the Americas. Most people don't know where it is until I mention its claim to fame....Pierce Brosnan's "The Taylor of Panama." No, not really. A couple of my great, great grands came from the Caribbean islands (Jamaica and Barbados to be exact) to help the U.S. build the canal in the late 19th century. The term "antillano" was used to describe the influx of Afro-Caribbean immigrants during that time. It's since an out-dated term, but I like to remember history. Even in another country, at another time, far, far away, my ancestors were working for the man! I digress....It's a diverse country in terms of race (many), food (damned good!), and music (¡caliente!). We speak spanish, but most people speak english too. Some are rich, but many are poor. The days are hot and sweaty, and when it rains, it floods. The beaches are beautiful, and so are the people. Parties are for your entire family (including friends, since friends = family), and nobody leaves a until the rum is done and dancing has worn out their feet. The families are huge, but tight. And pride runs deep. We come to the U.S. and we long to go back. And no matter what brought them to Panama, or how long they’ve been there, they proudly represent where they are. And if they leave, their hearts stay right there in that little country. But, enough about me. ""Stolen from April" ;-)
