About Me

Hi, I'm Debra. I love music and singing and am very spiritual in nature. I am a hard worker during the week. Still, there are times when I've just gotta party! I am married and the proud Mother of three grown sons I love. ....

My Interests

I enjoy singing in my band Sudo Jonz. I also, love singing with friends, The Chancel Choir, and/or as a Soloist preferably while playing my guitar. I enjoy playing tambourine, and keyboards, writing songs, teaching children to sing, dancing, playing games, swimming, camping, biking, volleyball, the Web, and of course, hanging out with my husband, my sons and my friends. I enjoy my work too, most of the time. Still, I look forward to my time off. I began singing with rock bands in 1993. My first band was formed with guys from "3rd Degree". We called it "Vendetta". Our lead guitar player took off after a couple of years; just as we were really getting the good gigs and so, after being unable to replace him we eventually disbanded. Later, I became a member of "String Thief", and then that band got our lead back and we eventually became 3rd Degree again. Brion Walker and I were dual lead singers in those two bands. It was a trip! However, it was not fate for that band to stay together and so, it ended. We were discussing getting it back together once again when our lead guitarist took off again. After that I sat in with several other bands for short periods of time. Such as, Rocky & the Bullwinkles back at the end of 1999. It was only for 3 months. I really like singing the harder rocking stuff. Sudo Jonz first came on the scene in 2003 but, due to losing our bassist we winded up going our separate ways for a few years. Thank God in 2007 our band was reunited with our original bass player Wayne and all is well. It's more fun than ever. We have a new appreciation for what we all have together and the original songs we do are really cool, too. I hope we can come up with more and more of those in the future.

I'd like to meet:

I enjoy meeting fun, spiritual, confident, interesting people, who love a variety of good music and know how to have fun and enjoy life.

Music:

Most Classic Rock is good. Yes, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd are Great. Also love bands like Green Day, Cold Play, and Evanesence. When in bands I enjoy singing Heart, Pat Benetar, No Doubt, Evanesence, and Led Zeppelin songs the most. I like GOOD Christian music too, from Janet Paschal to Switchfoot, and Good classical songs. And of course, playing and singing my own tunes is fun. I'm what you might consider a mood music type. I do know however that music has the power to change my mood. Maybe that's why I love it so much.

Movies:

Romantic Comedies with good plots are my favorite, like, "When Harry Met Sally". I also like Out of this World Action Movies like, James Bond movies, and Space Flicks. Plus I enjoy good dramas like "Against All Odds" when in the mood for drama. I detest too much blood and guts. Old Horror movies with people like Vincent Price in them are cool.

Television:

CNN, Good music videos, and sit coms like "Two and a Half Men", "How I Met Your Mother", etc... I also get into the Science channel, the National Geographic channel, the History channel and the Discovery channel.

Books:

The Bible, The Purpose Driven Life, Straight Talk, God Calling, and other spiritual, interesting, helpful or fun books. Also like biographies of bands and other interesting people. "The Love You Make" is about the Beatles and is a very interesting and enjoyable read.

Heroes:

My Lord and Savior Jesus, the Christ is Number 1, because He saved me, thank God! Others include Mother Teresa, my Grandparents, Dolores Nevil, B.K. Francis, Rock God-Jimmy Page, Roger Plant, John Bonham, John Lennon (Really miss you), Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ann and Nancy Wilson of "Heart". Newest heroes are those rescue workers, service workers, care givers, and other volunteers who have reached out any way they could to those in need with Christian love.
