Making a Lifelong Difference
..
Add to My Profile | More Videos Layout Created at Mspremade.comEach year in Texas, thousands of children are physically or sexually abused, neglected, or abandoned by their families. Eventually, they end up in court ... even though their only "crime" is they have been victims. It is up to a judge to decide their future. Should they remain in foster care? Be reunited with their parents? Or should parental rights be terminated to free them for adoption? That's where CASA comes in.CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates for children - trained community volunteers appointed by a District Judge as Guardian ad Litems to speak up for abused and neglected children in court.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

As dawn broke over the beach, the old man asked the youth why he was flinging starfish into the sea. The answer was that they'd die if left to the sun. "But the beach goes for miles and there are millions of them," he countered. "What difference is it going to make?" The young man looked at the starfish as he threw it to safety,"It makes a difference to this one." "We are guilty of many errors and many faults But our worst crime is abandoning the children, neglecting the fountain of life. Many of the things we need can wait. The child cannot. Right now is the time Bones are being formed blood is being made senses are being developed. To the child we cannot answer "tomorrow". The child's name is "today"."
