Toby Radloff, Genuine Nerd

About Me

I am full time federal government (Department of Veterans Affairs) employee. I also have a part-time acting career, having appeared in the big-screen film AMERICAN SPLENDOR (based on retired VA co-worker/friend Harvey Pekar's comic books of the same name). SPLENDOR was both a critical and commercial success, having received a Golden Globe nomination, an Academy Award nomination, and four Independent Spirit Awards nominations, as well as huge critical acclaim when it was released in 2003. It also won the Grand Jury Prize in the dramatic category at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. I also appeared in several low-budget films, including KILLER NERD, BRIDE OF KILLER NERD and TOWNIES. I have also appeared in the theatrical film THE OH IN OHIO, starring Parker Posey. I play a janitor. My current projects include THE TED ZONE cartoon series—I star as the voice of Ted. I’m also starring in other videos created by my longtime friend and producer, Wayne Alan Harold--look for them at tobyradloff.com, waynealanharold.com and other places on the web. I get many requests from fans wanting me to appear in their low-budget movies or videos, but I am currently both busy and under exclusive contract. For serious (i.e.: Hollywood or big-budget Indie) business inquiries only, my representation can be reached via e-mail at luridmail2008 AT mac DOT com.

My Interests

Music:

Mainly oldies and rock from the 1950's through the 1980's. I like some 1990's and current stuff, but I don't really follow the current music scene.

Movies:

"Revenge Of The Nerds" (mainly the first one; the sequels were so-so), also "Amercian Splendor" (and other films I've appeared in); also "Animal House" and the National Lampoon "Vacation" films.

Television:

Old Hanna Barbera cartoons, especially :"The Flintstones", "The Jetsons", "Top Cat", "Huckleberry Hound", and "Yogi Bear", also "Alvin and the Chipmunks". I also like many comedies from the 1960's/1970's, especially "Welcome Back Kotter". I also liked the short lived show "Freaks and Geeks".

Books:

Not much into fiction, but I like almanacs, "The Guiness Book Of World Records", and books about antiques and collectibles from the 1950's on...also old car books. Also books about TV, movies, and cartoons.

Heroes:

I always liked the Adam West "Batman" and the Burt Ward "Robin".
