AND HAVE NO FEAR! YOU WILL POINT YOURSELF IN THE DIRECTIONS OF YOUR DREAMS YOU WILL FIND THE STRENGTH IN THE SOUND & MAKE YOUR TRANSITION. Sometimes I feel a bit like the Pied Piper. However, I prefer the Priest or Rabbi metaphor when referring to my interpretation of what a DJ truly is. Or rather, who I am as the DJ. From the beginning, as early as I can remember, I have been a healer of some kind. Relieving people of their worries, burdens, or “sins” is something that will forever create the same effect on me as it does on the crowd. It is the stranger that I seek to enlighten; the crowd of people completely alien to one another at first- rises above the every day glaze that smothers their inner child. Like a Priest or Shaman or Witchdoctor even; I attempt to bring the whole place to a higher plane of being. A groupthink emerges and relation on every level occurs, where once two strangers would not even look one another in the eye, they now dance together. To create and maintain a symbiosis between the dancer and the DJ is my only concern when playing a show. Taking them from what they know to what they don’t without them realizing it and essentially focusing the rooms energy upwards and out. I basically get people off on the dance floor!
