"AUTOMATIC PUSHER LIFE" SINGLE OUT NOW!!!

About Me

"AUTOMATIC PUSHER LIFE" SINGLE AVAILABLE TO BUY AT FOPP, AVALANCHE, MONO, AND SOON TO BE BE THROUGH HIJACKED MYSPACE AS DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!!WITH the emphasis on low-down dirty punk rock that grabs you by the ears and refuses to let go, the Gems have rocked out with everyone from the Buzzcocks to inmates of Barlinnie prison since exploding on to the Glasgow music scene in 2004. Brothers Eddie (guitar and vocals) and John Beggan (bass, vocals) joined forces with childhood friend Kev McCaig (drums) and set about spreading their musical message with gigs the length and breadth of Britain. Championed by the likes of Vic Galloway and Alan McGee – “Great band, great style, amazing sound.” – the Gems' CV reads like a who’s who of modern music with support slots for Goldfrapp, Hard-Fi, Snow Patrol, Electric Six, the Buzzcocks – and not forgetting their special one-off Johnny Cash-esque set at Bar-L. Their songwriting talents and ability to detonate a dancefloor were officially recognised when they beat hundreds of new bands to win the prestigious Coca-Cola Scottish Centre Stage Competition in 2005. Appearances at T in the Park, MusicWorks UK, Manchester’s In The City, the Edinburgh Fringe, Wickerman Festival and Alan McGee’s Death Disco in London, to name just a few, have dazzled audiences and helped build a loyal fanbase. Tipped as one of the bands to watch in 2006 by the Evening Times, the boys ended the year on a high with the release of their infectious first single Automatic Pusher Life on Hijacked Records to rave reviews. Expect to hear plenty more from them in 2007.I edited my profile at Doobix.com
