Mandeville, LA - Nocturnal Records is proud to announce Deluge Songs- the second US release by Scottish rockers Terra Diablo. Nocturnal Records will unveil the much-anticipated follow up to their self-titled debut on September 18th 2007 to be unleashed through Sony/RED Distribution.
Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Terra Diablo is an alternative rock band that has been compared to the likes of everything from Swervedriver (who’s drummer actually manages the act) to Foo Fighters and Silversun Pickups. Already towering over their Glaswegian counterparts, it is easy to see how NME championed the group as, “the height of avant-rock excellence.” Based on the strength of the new album, Deluge Songs will be featured in their entirety on it's own channel on all British Airways flights during the month of September, along with on-air interviews and in-flight magazine coverage.
Produced by Jeremy Parker (Evanescence, Mudvayne, Otep) with help from Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne, Otep) and a track mixed by UK Producer Paul Savage (Mogwai, Malcolm Middleton, Arab Strap), Deluge Songs is Terra Diablo’s most compelling work to date. Blending heavy guitar-driven hooks and sharp intellectual lyrics, Deluge Songs is poised to be the next breakout record from the UK.
Tracks from their US debut were included in November 2006 in both the CMJ New Music and FMQB sampler CDs. Radio went 5 songs deep on the album, with the band charting on the FMQB Sub Modern Albums chart - 21 in week 4, 16 in week 5.
The Quartet toured with acts like Snow Patrol, The Subways, Idlewild and All American Rejects. They have also played their share of internationally acclaimed festivals such as Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, T in The Park and they performed at the BBC Scotland’s 25th Anniversary Show. Their powerful live show and extensive touring throughout Europe earned them their US debut performance- a slot at Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flaming Lips, Secret Machines and more.
"The Terra Diablo disc has got to be one of the top 5 rock discs of this year. I cannot - and WILL NOT - stop listening to it." - Adam 12 Radio Practitioner - Weekdays 9a-2p, 104.1 WBCN in Boston
“Perhaps what is most striking about Deluge Songs is the juxtaposition between irreverent, optimistic aggressiveness and a yearning dreaminess.” – Transmission
"[Deluge Songs] is the perfect mix of shoegazing swirly reverb, grungy ol’ regular rock and catch Britpop sass." – Riverfront Times (St. Louis)
“Glasgow’s answer to alt-pop punk rock.” – New York Post
“…wall-to-wall arena ready sound…” – Isthmus (Madison)
“…the band explodes into a roar of guitars that propels Ian Fairclough’s vocal like a pipeline cresting over a tidal wall” - Isthmus (Madison)
“…rapid-fire punk-pop infectiousness, a metal snarl and even a lilting acoustic tenderness.” – The Grand Rapids Press
“Deluge Song starts off with an ethereal-sounding piano before launching into harsh vocals and raunchy guitars for the climax of the album.” - Caught In The Carousel
“The guitars are loud and in-your-face, the rhythms driving and hard, and yet...the band somehow manages to keep catchy melodies placed squarely center stage.” - Babysue
“Terra Diablo flaunt its seemingly effortless grasp on working guitar-piloted hooks and radio-friendly accessibility.” - Aversion
"Terra Diablo has what it takes to get its foot in the American door. The proof is in Deluge Songs. Catchy, punchy, and effortlessly accessible." – Aversion
“The tracks breath with soul and life. The tonal painting is one of thick brush strokes rather than finely laced licks…” – Downtown Money Waster
