My heroes are the ones who survived doing it wrong, who made mistakes, but recovered from them.-Bono

About Me

I live in Alaska where it is cold 70% of the time but beautiful. I am mom to two great kids who experience autism. My son is 9 and my daughter is 4. My kids amaze me everyday. I love loud music, traveling with my sisters, butterflies, good coffee, and sushi and I dye my hair a lot. If I could I would go to a concert every night of my life.

My Interests

Faith, family, friends, parenting, great music, good books, autism research, Autism Awareness!

Autism Connections

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet new friends,re-connect with old friends, and meet other parents of children with autism. As for famous folks I'd most like to meet Bono and all the guys from U2. I'd like to get a tattoo from Ami James. I would love to go to a race and meet Elliott Sadler and Jamie McMurray and thank them for all they do for autism awareness. I would love to meet my two World Vision Hope Children that are from Zimbabwe someday.

Music:

I love music that is made by people who are passionate about what they do, and why they do it. Some of my favorites: U2, Day of Fire , Skillet , Nathan Lee ,Flyleaf, Project 86, Plumb, Chevelle, Thousand Foot Krutch, Blindside, Keane, David Crowder, Damien Rice, Coldplay, Robbie Seay Band, Leigh Nash, Sarah Masen, The Choir, Mazzy Star, Mat Kearney, A Fine Frenzy, Patty Griffin, Phil Wickham, Daughtry, Todd Agnew, Sara Mclachlan, Jars of Clay, Amy Lee,Counting Crows, Glen Phillips, Derek Webb, Kendall Payne, Chris Cornell, Brandi Carlile, Wilco, Mute Math, Sixpence None the Richer, Jeremy Lister, Emerson Hart, Taylor Sorenson and the Trigger Code ...too many more to name. I love music... it's my escape.

Movies:

A Walk to Remember, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Empire Records, and The Martian Child are a few I like.

Television:

House, Eli Stone, Numbers, Monk, Corner Gas, Men in Trees, and Psych are some shows I like! I also like Deadliest catch and Dirty Jobs!

Books:

Anything by Jane Austen, Most of Ted Dekker's books, Donald Miller's books, The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks, Beyond the Wall by Stephen Shore, There's Boy in Here by Judy and Sean Baron, the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis

Heroes:

Bono is incredible. Children with special needs are heroes to me and so are their parents. The people who work for and support The One Capaign, World Vision, The Hands and Feet Project, and other organizations that are making a difference in the lives of so many are heroes.
Pray for our Troops.
They are all heroes.

"But the one thing we can all agree, all faiths, all ideologies, is that God is with the vulnerable and the poor. God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house... God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives... God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war... God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them." Bono
