About Me

EVERY NEW MYSPACE FRIEND COUNTS!!!!
The musical talent hotbed known as the D/FW Metroplex has spawned countless memorable acts in recent years. From Stevie Ray Vaughan to Edie Brickell, all the way up to Pantera, the Toadies and Drowning Pool, standing out in the crowded room is never an easy task. Shades of Dust's tactic for accomplishing this is fairly simple: Good music without gimmicks. Rather than be a band who relies upon indulgence in extravagant stage shows, makeup and props, the members of SOD have, since their 2001 inception, preferred to let their music speak for them, and show that it is truly possible for a band to succeed merely by doing what they love: playing music that speaks from the heart rather than the head. All the while, doing their best to stress all angles of life, accentuating both negative and positive. They are a young band (members ages range from 22 to 30) with voracity for living and playing, whether it is in front of a crowd of fifty or 250, SOD always manages to avoid complacency. The future is bright for SOD, because every day the sun rises is another chance to rock and roll.
