Burma's Saffron Revolution

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

WE NEED TO ACT NOW TO SUPPORT THE PEOPLE OF BURMA AGAINST THE MILITARY DICTATORS
In the blogs I have included various suggestions, and this link to the US Campaign for Burma has even more things to do:
The US Campaign for Burma has lots of things YOU can do to help Burma
This page is meant to a show of solidarity with the ongoing "Saffron Revolution" in Burma (Myanmar) that is being led by the Buddhist monks and nuns. Things are happening so fast in Burma that I will not attempt to post minute by minute updates. I'm including links of useful, reliable news sources, and I'll post a few videos here.
The flag I'm using as the profile pic is the Burmese variation on the International Buddhist Flag
used internationally among Buddhists (the Burmese and others have the fifth color (Wisdom) as light pink instead of teh original orange). If you watch the footage of the protests, among the Burmese national flag you will also see this flag.
This video from the BBC is abt 24 hours old. but it has some excellent footage showing how things are changing from prayer processions, to one of more anger and passion on the part of the monks, nuns and laypeople still massing in the streets.

For now, here is a link to the British Broadcasting Corporation website where you can listen to or watch the latest from Burma.
Here are a couple of initial links to Burmese opposition groups, I'll develop a better set of links in the next day.
Democratic Voice of Burma
National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma
Blogs are also an excellent source of raw opinions and information, like ko htike's prosaic collection , but they get "disappeared" pretty quickly so you have to keep looking.
I would be interested in people messaging me with Burmese blogger's sites and other, less mainstream sources of information on what is going on in Burma.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People around the world in solidarity with the monks, nuns and laypeople of Burma campaigning for liberty, justice and peace.
