About Me

Who we are:
Proud Member of the Indie Theater Movement
". . . Impetuous Theater Group’s talented cast . . . give it 110%, and the result is often riveting. When you leave the theater and are assaulted by the wonderful hustle and bustle that is New York, their performances go with you." - The Gothamist
"Office Sonata is only the second full-scale production from Impetuous Theatre Group, a new troupe headed by James David Jackson and Josh Sherman and Joe Powell (their debut was Venezuela, which nytheatre.com covered in last summer's FringeNYC festival). This is a company that we will definitely be keeping an eye on. Meanwhile, if you can get to one of the remaining performances of this really impressive show, do soyou'll have a ball." Martin Denton - nytheatre.com
"Although the Impetuous Theater Company is New York-based, the ensemble should be considered among the international picks of this year's FringeNYC for its staging of Venezuela by German scribe Guy Helminger...Graffiti is sprayed and DJ-type music is heard during the show, reminding us that this is a young, emerging, impetuous theater company." Adam Klasfeld and Brian Scott Lipton - Theatermania.com
"On set designer Joe Powell's graffiti- and snipe-covered re-creation of a subway platform (and with Bill Kirby's effectively subtle sound design providing apt aural color), James David Jackson's production simmers with the quiet intensity of overly hopeful dreams that can't help but fall to the harshness of reality."Reviewed By Andy Propst - Backstage.com
Named "The Scary Tatted Theater Company" at this year's festival by the venue director at Player's Theater
”Impetuous Theater does it again.” – nytheater.com regarding The Chronological Secrets of Tim by Janet Zarecor

I'd like to meet:

People who like to be entertained…or eaten. People who like to see talented people get the recognition they deserve or eaten. People who like to have fun by eating other people or be eaten! People who rarely wear underwear because they are too lazy to do laundry or are running away from people who are trying to eat them.

I shot Brendan in the back shortly after this picture was taken because other people, including Brian, Ryan and Mathers, were shooting at me and I was mad. I would have just eaten their rotting corpse like braiiiins. But we weren’t zombies yet.

If you are interested in becoming part of the Impetuous family or simply eating brains, please send us a message via myspace or post a comment.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Always remember, eat brains before going for the ass…only the strong survive baby…only the strong survive…

Music:

"Don't stop believin" is one of the top 20 songs ever.

Heroes:

Our hero? It all goes back to the legend of the ITG mascot. He's a big man. A man who plays the bass. A man who puts on a wife beater and doesn't look like he should be standing in a bathrobe in your front yard yelling "Shitter's full!" but instead, looks good. He sent the assistant to the managing director a little, scratch that, large 12" gift in the mail which became the center piece of our show 47:59. Thanks for our mascot - you know who you are... It has been a conversation piece all over the city of New York and its had its New York stage debut.

Much love - the Impetuous Family.
